Those plastic wrappers they put around new videogames. Look, when i buy a new game, i prefer to just take out the manual, and sit on a bench in my town and read about my new game. But no! I can´t, because i can´t get the fucking wrapper up! Things like that makes me want to bang my head against a wall, seriously. I mean, WHAT.IS.THE.FUCKING.POINT!

Do you hate plastic wrappers?

well, those wrappers exist to protect the game inside, you wouldn't want to buy a game and find out that the disk is not inside.

Also, pointless rant

I want to say your grammar's terrible...

Anyway, I've never had this problem, I find them really easy to take off, and it's proof to me that the game's new, so I never complain.

I never had that problem.

Maybe you got that hard kind of plastic where you live?
Here it is quite easy to get up.

To make it at least marginally harder for thieves to steal it from the store. Yes you can use a box cutter or razor, but that still takes more time and is more noticeable than just opening the box and grabbing the game.

Trust me, there are ALOT of people out there who jack them - even with the wrapping (I used to work in retail). It would be much worse without it.

(also, I really don't have a hard time removing it... it's all about technique)

I thought they were made to seal them off so you can bring them back (if sealed) to change them or get your money back.

Stupid and pointless rant here because that wrapper keeps your game case and the disc contain within nice, pretty and unscratched. If the case didn't have that those items are at risk for damage and if that happened you'd be ranting even more.

Somehow this seems like someone trying to copy the "You know what's bullshit?" youtube series.

This too. Seeming as there are laws against copying software, stores only allow you to bring back a sealed version (otherwise you could copy). With some stores you can still trade it in, but not at full value.

Eh, not that bad, i buy CDs frequently, and regularly I'll find at least 2 or three different layers of plastic to unwrap. Anyway like Ryuo said, keeps in the freshness (and the CD/game)

Edit: WTF are you trying to do with the packaging? you don't "get the fucking wrapper up!" you rip it off or simply unwrap it... unless your not talking about the games the rest of us are...

I dunno, it's kind of a ritual to me now. It's not that hard to take off, and it kind of makes the anticipation palpable when I buy a new one. That's usually the best part about buying a new game, taking off the wrapper while still in town, taking out the manual and reading it on the bus. It really isn't the same experience when I open a used game.

They protect the game from thieves and keep the public's grubby hands off your new game.
Besides, they're really not that hard to take off.

Pointless rant is pointless.

Take your watch off, use the little pointy bit on the strap to pick through it, problem solved.

Or just bring a pair of scissors with you or something.

Huh, good idea! Next time i´ll bring some scissors. You know, looking back, this truly seems like a rather pointless rant. Could a mod lock this topic please?

Most stores should offer a no quibble guarantee providing that you have a receipt and it's within the standard 28 days or whatever.

Or, OP, you could just use one of your keys to slice it open at the ends or something. Works for me anyway.

No, the wrapping is fine around games.

The only plastic wrapping I hate is the one they usually wrap accessories with, such as a controller. Really solid plastic that has no visible opening points and even the scissors struggle to cut through it, then the controller is usually wrapped in wire in the box, grrr. That stuff infuriates me.

I'm fine with the plastic wrappers.

What really annoys me is the stickers that stores like EB Games use on their games. Those things are a pain to get off without doing any damage.

Um, what? I love those! They keep my game pristine... not to mention it feels like Christmas every time I rip one of those off.

Probably one of my biggest pet peeves about buying games from EB, sometimes there's only the shelf copy left, so that joy is stolen from me. :(
