Gamers that want want want, whether or not technology will allow it.

Just look at the "want" list for the PSP 2, I'm not gonna name them all, because I'm sure ya'll already know what they are, like mini Blue-Ray, and Flash 10, PS2 Quality graphics among many other things.

What I don't get is why can't we be happy with what we've got? Though technology has come a long way in the past 10 years, it's far from perfect, and we have to accept that.

Anyway, I don't care if you all disagree with me, I don't care if you think this is a useless thread, because I have to get my opinion out there. Gaming companies aren't magicians who can pull *insert item from want list* out of their butts, their humans who are working with what's available.

People are always going to have unrealistic expectations of games companies. Unfortuantely it's a fact of life. Not worrying about it would be the best thing to do in this situation.

It's annoying, yes, but I'm sure it's hastening the advancement of technology. As well, living up to consumers' expectations adds a more competitive to development, which is good for us as well.

No! I'm too late and you got the brownies :( Gotta love Family Guy :)

OnTopic: It's just normal behaviour to always want more... sadly at times. But again, normal.

What annoys me is that so many gamers associate better graphics with a better game. Obviously there are so many good games out these days with awesome graphics; but what about taking some of the awesome gameplay mechanics from the '90s. Make gameplay the focus and then worry about the graphics.

For instance, check out this game:

http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/483463

It's a very addicting game, yet it has simple graphics. Obviously this game won't appeal to everyone; gamers have a pretty diverse taste sometimes.

I believe the developers need to go back to the roots of what made a game fun - and they could do that for a fraction of their insane budget.

I would love to see a game like Master of Orion II recreated for the DS. They could easily overhaul the graphics to update them a bit and make a few gameplay changes/additions. That's a game you could easily sink 60+ hours into.

Sure people demand alot but if the new system didn't do a lot more then what is the point in buying it.
The PSP 2 can certainly do PS2 graphics (PSP1 almost does already and tech is so advanced now they have pocket PCs that run COD4).

Okay, okay:" A priest and a rabbi go into a bar, and the Priest buys some ham, and the rabbi goes: I can't eat that, its against my religion."
I know its not the best, but I dont see you coming up with anything better!

You know what grinds my Metal Gears? The Game Boy Colour Metal Gear Solid game. I mean, as far as Metal Gear games go it's hard as tack, but not rewarding since you only get rewarded if you are a masochist. It's like Zelda stealth missions crossed with Metal Gear Solid. Other than that it's a good game, it just grinds my Metal Gears because I'm as subtle as a sledgehammer at stealth missions. I mean, I can creep up behind people in real life without them noticing without even trying, but do I want to do that? No, because people say it's creepy. Why the double standard in Video Games?

Mini...blu-ray? The only reason I can imagine is to watch things in hi-def, but that would probably end up being the world's smallest HD screen if it was.

I thought the original PSP was supposed to have nearly PS2 quality graphics? If not, well, it doesn't seem far-fetched to have it now. The technology is pretty old by this point. I wouldn't need anything more than that, there are some pretty impressive games from that generation, even compared to some stuff now (or maybe I'm just not as swayed by it as most).

I know I was beaten but im trying to feel intelligent here.

Back on topic, As previously said, gamers will always have expectations that cannot be fulfilled, I am one of those gamers. However I do think most people are generally happy with what they have so far, and will keep looking forward to what will come in the future.
