When your dreams are filled with playing the game and you wake up desperately trying to figure out how best to manage your limited resources.

I kept seeing excellent placements for portals after plowing through the game one night.

When it's two o'clock in the morning and I still haven't done my homework then I shrug it off, keep playing and get two hours of sleep.
Also, from Assassin's Creed, I've often looked out the window and seriously considered scaling down the wall because it would be faster than the stairs.
Yep. Happened to me as well. I should stay inside so I wont try to scale a random building.

I played Ocarina of Times with my toes. While reading a book. Literally. I know that game backwards, forwards and sideways.

When I started to try and figure how to make a space marine armor, in my sleep. Still got the schematics in my head. Yeah, seriously.

... you start to get the craziest dreams like walking around Runescape with the white mushrooms from Kingdom Hearts following you around.

... you start to call your family members by the videogame characters they resemble (or are on your mind).

... instead of worrying if your gaming time will cut into your academics, you're worried your academics will cut into your gaming time. (Honestly, that's just bad).

... the only conversations you can have with people are videogame related because you are so out of touch with the real world (Tsunami what? When did this happen? Yo! Did you see the new patch for [game]?).

... everyday life becomes a scene in a videogame, perferrably multiple ones. (Oh dude, you're girlfriend left you for that football player? That's just like in [game] don't worry, you'll eventually get to hack them both into pieces.)

... you feel even the most senseless games have educational value. (Steal is made with two coal and a iron ore! OH! I know what to do! I have a lvl # first aid in WoW!)

I'm sure I could go on with real life examples, not all of them my doing (I was aware of the tsunami, but I think that's the only one I'm not guilty of at least once....). Beware, these things really are addicting!

I remember having played a lot of Max Payne 2 (a LOT) and was currently going through extreme mode or whatever, saving/loading being my key strategy, with me being bit of a beginner on shooters back then.

Anyway, one day at school we were about to have hard test in math/biology/dontremember and I started thinking: "hmmm, I need to save here" (I was rather tired at the time). After a few seconds I pretty much stopped dead on my tracks and had a WTF moment.

Any time I see the letters "T" "O" and "U" anywhere, in that order, with any amount of spacing or other letters between them (I speed-read)... anywhere I see them sets off the same trigger in my brain. It shouldn't be hard to guess what that trigger is.
Gee, well, I've got nothing.

I hope you know I'm kidding.

It's when I could tell you literally everything about the game/series. Storylines, mechanics, the works!

When that little voice in your head that narrates your life starts to sound like a character from whatever game you are playing.

For example, For a long time that voice sounded like Andrew Ryan to me. I'd be at school and be given homework and the voice would scream- "A MAN CHOOSES! A SLAVE OBEYS! OBEY!!!!!" It was kinds wierd. Plus when I watch alot of scrubs the voice gets amplified. It's really odd...

Wait no one else has that voice? Damn.

...When my brains tries to kill me.
It only happens for like a split second, but it's there nonetheless.

"You can do it man, just jump, you'll make it, if not, you still got a save data from two hours ago you can reload."

Wait, what? This is real life, what am I thinking!
Yeah, pretty much that...

when Dragon Age: Origins first came out, and I would try to hit the spacebar in real life to pause and think for a second. It got kinda awkward.

Also, heaven forbid I see any chest-high walls. I'd probably have some sort of Vietnam-like flashback.

I decided that I had to calm down a bit with video games after a 13 hours l4d and l4d2 spree. The next day I saw a gas can and pulled my arms up to try and shoot it. Then i realized... I was out of ammo :)

Edit: Forgot, sometimes I see myself and everything around me in third person or over the shoulder view. Dont ask me how!

Years ago when i was just a kid and I got a game boy colour and pokemon blue for christmas. I played it so much I could still hear the bloody music in my head as I tried to go to sleep.

Has this ever happened to anyone else or was this just foreshadowing to my inevitable psychological breakdown and subsequent killing spree?
