I played Red Dead Redemption for so long I had to fight the urge to pull over and skin roadkill I saw on the side of the road when I was driving.

True story.

I started thinking about what I'd post, but realized I already posted this [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.245266-You-know-you-play-too-many-video-games-when#8960475] a long time ago. So I shall not post again =)

During my high school years, I looked at some of the hot chicks and wondered if their Esper forms would look similarly beautiful...

Ah, the good ol' days.

When you start having nightmares about elevators, and you start taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

+10 internets if you know what game it is.
Probably not the game your looking for, but the Silent Hill 2 cutscene where the Pyramid head catches up with Mary and kills her just before she gets to you in the elevator.

Or possibly that part from Amnesia where the elevator goes crashing down.

Anyway, you know you play too much of a video game when you see someone get beat up in a fight and just think "dude needs to micro some more".

I kept having dreams I was a member of a Call of Duty mission or killing Nazi zombies or something... Weird...

The only time a game messed with real life was after my first 2 hour session of Braid. I kept thinking I could just go back in time, and my brother was afraid of people moving to the left and undoing their work. Seriously.

Not so much a Videogame, but when you play Airsoft or a similar outdoor "combat" activity, I noticed I cannot look at a forrest or wrecked building the same way again.
I either think "that would be a nice field to play on, I wonder who owns it and how much it´ll cost to make it play ready and legal." or go one step further and just determine tactics, usable cover, routes for advance and so on.

I also once dreamed a weird dream which obviously had alot of my personal interests, favorite video games and my friends crammed into. It was such a clusterfuck, but my imagination made it WORK...it was pure AWESOME! And the "storyline" of it kept even me interested...it was like watching a massive fanfiction written by someone else about you and your interrests.
Weird, but awesome.

T- When I dreamed that I was a total war commander- as in being a omnipotent swooping perspective over my physically present units. When I was told to get up in the morning I thought "How can they compel me to get out of bed, my army is scattered among the beds folds, which should act as cover and conceal them"

I knew I was playing Persona 3 Fes too much when I was sure that I was losing an hour every night to the Dark Hour.

Certain sounds always freak me out a bit, namely anything that sounds like the manhacks from HL or creepers from Minecraft.

my back and legs are stiff and sore and my wrists feel all carpal-tunnely :-(

Oh, and when playing games start invading my dreams
that actually worried me

Elevators are pretty much bad news in every game.

When, after playing Mass Effect, I started thinking up three possible comebacks to each conversation piece and picking the one that would guide the conversation.

I'm not kidding. It was really bizarre.

That's actually a pretty useful skill. That is, if you can manage to do it without standing there staring blankly at the NPC... er I mean other person... for 5 minutes while you think of a response.

If you can do it on the fly, you could be a very sly conversationalist.

You know you have played too much of a game when you frequent gaming forums for so long that you've seen the "you know you have played too much when..." thread so much that you've long since refused to answer them.

Wait.

You've played too much minecraft when you look around to talk to someone and don't immediately see them, and the first thing to pop up in your head is that you need to relog to fix the invisi glitch.

This has happened to me at least twice recently.

Come to think of it, it did help me persuasiveness to think of it as a "verbal duel."
