At extreme levels of play for a game, I rarely find myself seeing certain notification from the game in my peripheral vision. An extended bout of Mechwarrior left meconstantly glancing down because I thought I saw the flashing red of my mechs armor. After Rome: Total War, I would turn my head to the left because I saw a falling square notifying me that something happened. A similar thing happened after Civ 5, only on my right. Those are the only games that's happened for, though. Normally, the only consequence of playing too many FPS games is a overwhelming need to play a turn based strategy game, or vice versa.

When you start to punch trees to make your house for the night.

But seriously after awhile of playing Rockband at a friends house, I looked at the wall and saw it moving away from me.

When after playing some total war games you draw a map of Europe and plan your conquest whilst telling a friend of the time you conquered the middle east and believing you can conquer the world.
Or when you dream about beating trees because you've played so much minecraft that you think you can beat through them.

When I start dreaming about it.

A few months ago I was binging on Fallout New Vegas and Minecraft. Then I had a dream where I was in the post-apocalypse Nevada desert trying to find some secret underground city built from diamonds.

And several years before that I was played a ton of Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I had a dream that all I can remember from it is that it told me that sages were a class I should desire. Turns out they were. Now I try to accept any advice my dreams can give me. Unfortunately my dreams don't seem too keen on doing me any favors.

When you close your eyes and you see stuff like the crosshairs. That's just me though.

When you give someone a present and see "friend approves +5" at the corner of your vision. Same for annoying them and disapproval.

You know when your friend has been playing games too much when you're off sick and get a text that says "Where are you? Have you desynchronised? I told you not to use the Apple so much!"

You yell at the characters for things that haven't happened yet. And not just for something that's about to happen (like walking into a obvious trap in the next room). I'm talking about yelling at them for things that won't happen for a couple of hours of gametime.

For example, yesterday I was playing Mass Effect and I found myself yelling at Jenkins to not be an idiot and learn how to use cover. Or cursing the Council for being assholes (in general) and for criticizing me for saving the Feros colony as I'm going around saving it.

I genuinely hear that little plinky sound from Metal Gear Solid that indicates you are losing blood - all the time. It's made me quite the hypochondriac.

Other than that, I know I've been playing a game too much when I consider starting another 360 account just so I can have the joy of getting every single achievement again.

Oh, and whenever someone begins a conversation with me, I sort of imagine a Mass Effect wheel of conversation options appearing on their chest, leading to all sorts of extreme and wildly irrational reactions to anything people said.

Unfortunately ME2 came along, which meant that my conversational style, which was already drawing suspicion, was further compromised by the fact that I'd keep smacking people with my shoulder when I wanted them to shut up.

Or worse, smacking them with my other shoulder if I was trying to console them. And lets not even begin to explore the fact that over-Mass-Effecting leads to a presumption that 3 rudimentary conversations about personal history over the course of a month will NEVER FAIL to make someone want to sleep with you.

That happens to me all the time. Or when you spend all day thinking about the improvements you're going to make to your Minecraft home while your real one sits in shambles.

Walking around town at night and reflexively try to cast night vision on yourself so u can see better (oblivion).

Or sneaking to the kitchen at night to get a snack and pause to look around for your sound meter so you don't wake anyone up(splinter cell).

Pause every few hours and try to remember if it's been a while since you last reloaded(rainbow six vegas 2).

I knew I had been playing too much KotOR, or rather really plowing through it in 2003 that I remember I would think of sentences like HK-47 at times, prefacing everything I said by defining the context and nature of my sentence. Never said it aloud, though- that would be bonkers

I know this is kinda long but this thread got me thinking about stuff I've done when I've played to much Video Games.

I didn?t have an xbox when Assassins Creed 1 and 2 came out. When I got them I played them back to back. Not long after that I started noticing that I was wearing my hood up when I was wearing hoodies. I usually don?t do that. It made me feel all assassiny.

I like to entertain ideas of what I?d do if a zombie apocalypse broke out where I currently was. Like I?d enter my campus buildings and come up with possible exits, what I could use as a weapon ect? I?ve done this in multiple places not just school?..wow?thanks L4D and other zombie inspired media.

I?ve caught myself saying ?sweet Andraste?s flaming knickers!? and other Dragon age swears while using a British accent?..I?m from the southern region of the US ya?ll. X3

I?ve always wanted to wack people with a life size keyblade.

Pretended that I had the dialogue wheel from Mass Effect.

Wanted to use interrupts from Mass Effect 2.

Have seriously thought about or actually cut class due to a game release.

Put off important school work for just a few more hours.

Done school assignments and either referenced a videogame or focused on one. I literally did a public speaking assignment on why Mass Effect is awesome?..I got an A. XD

I caught myself asking someone ?would you kindly??

Use videogame themed ringtones and backgrounds for your phone. I do this all the time.

Said my name then approves or disapproves +5 in public.

I'm sure there is more. But those are the main ones that come to mind at them moment.

Reminds me discussing with my friend my campaign to conquer Asia as Ming in Europa Universallis III. He just shook his head and walked away while I proceeded to call him jealous for not picking on small Asian nations.

I knew I'd played too much minecraft of the course of a few days when my dreams were made up of minecraft blocks. Oh dear.

Also, I realised I'd played too much FFX when I planned into the stragergy of other games when best to use overdrives, even though the game doesn't have them.
