You know you're a gamer when you can instantly tell if a game is going to be something special just by looking at the cover. I'm pretty damn good at sort of feeling how much I would like a particular game before buying it. I expect all of you to master this art as well. Especially you Brian!
!
just out of curiosity what games passed the rank fo "special" I mean aside from Bioshock boxart has never been a good indicator, when I was new to gaming I got splinter cell and mass effect confused
Well the obvious examples would be Persona 4 and the Ace Attorney games. I bought Persona 4 with zero knowledge of what it was (except it's a JRPG) and expected it to be really good regardless. It is still the baist gaem evar and anyone who says otherwise is WRONG!

I don't even like JRPGs as a genre, I don't dislike them either. I just never bothered to get into them so randomly buying one doesn't make much sense.

I'm rather sure I use some sort of mystical power to look beyond the cover and see the game for what it truly is... Or something.

As for the AA games, I doubt I had even played a Visual Novel type game before. Now they are one of my favourite genres. There's a reason why I can't get the fucking Corpse Party True Ending out of my head :S

[sub]No hard feelings huh? Fucking Seiko man... /Cry[/sub]

I can do it with anime as well, except that is easier since the ones with a unique art style get a free ride XD

You know you're a gamer when you are sick and all you can think about when you are better is the fact that you will be able to play more intense games for longer without having a lie down.

Because it's clearly the important thing :p

After game depression is what characterises a good game.

Anyhow: You know you're a gamer when you accidentally stay up until 3am (or more) playing a game (ALONE) without realising it.
Add more gamer points every time you do this.

You know you're a gamer when you fear for your wallet/purses safety during a certain sale.

You play 13 hours of Final Fantasy X in one day and miss the fireworks on the Fourth of July.

Pathetic, I know.

I guess when you blow off sex for video games, no one is going to argue that you are not a gamer.

Actually I am the opposite. When I get sick I find the only thing good about being sick is that no one will heckle you for laying down all day and playing video games. Almost like being sick gives me the excuse to play more games without worrying that I should be doing something better with my time.

you know your a gamer when you walk down the street and see the world around full of game effects, calculating your step and "pedestrians" who magically "dont get run over by NPCS".
You know your a gamer when every second of your life is planned, because if thats not there, your going to loose some gaming time.
you know your a gamer when the first thing you do when you wake up is press the "on" button and tnhe go on to make breakfast.
you know your a gamer when you read escapist instead of working.
your a gamer when you think a perfect way to learn would be knowledge injection.
you know your a gamer when you constantly imagine how movies could be turned into games.
and last but not least, you know your a gamer when your image if perfect time is access to a (currently) nonexistent game of Life2, in which whole world is simulated and you are able to take control of people in it, with realistic reactions to everything you do, in multiplayer and singleplayer. (by realistic reactions i mean if you go make a gang and slaughter all the cops they wont spawn magically, there wont be any left and so on. Caprica have tried something simialr but then went into the whole plot of internet god and got canceled....)

when your so insanley excited for a game your hands shake as you take it our of the case......and when the same game gives you depression for a couple of days after you finish it...
i always get exited when a new game i want reaches my computer that my adrenaline rushes up, fever builds and i start to shake. The downturn of that adrenaline usually comes the next day even if i continue playing though. funnily enough this only happens to start of games, i gets im stuff to find a game that can sustain my excitement.

You know your a gamer, when it's followed by your b gamer, which then is followed by your c gamer and so on.

However, if you meant you're instead of your.
Then, you know you're a gamer when you play games.

You think about taking cover behind the sofa in your living room.
Also when you see a bottle-cap on the ground on your way to school and start to bend down to pick it up, only realising you're not in the Capital Wasteland when you're halfway down- true story.

Better yet... when you dream game cross-overs! I've had some rather wack ones... -_-
It was a crossover the characters walking around fallout 3 world were from a f2p mmo called dream of mirror online.

Characters that look like this.

You know you are a gamer , when you game but don't call yourself a gamer . Top that bitches bros.
You know you are a gamer when you don't post in topics that have "gamer" on the title.

Topped good sir.

Also you know you are a gamer when you find people that resemble a video game character you know and not vice versa.

You also know you are a gamer when random noises reminds you a random sountrack from a random game. Even worse they are usually the Horror games.
