I fell for the old Fallout 3 syndrome were you look at a bobby pin and think you need it for picking locks later.
Or see some bottle caps and think "oooh, money."

After a fairly large session of playing Modern Warfare 2, I decided to go for a walk to clear my head. As I was walking, I caught sight of someone out of the corner of my eye and my first instinct was to turn and fire. Thankfully I don't own a gun.

Recently when playing Dead Space 2, it was pretty late at night and I couldn't be arsed to turn the lights on as I went to the bathroom, I became convinced that a Necromorph was going to leap out at me at any moment.

You know you have been playing to long when... you start dreaming about the game at night... Minecraft dreams... very odd. (Or as one dream was, Minecraft and Left 4 dead at the same time )
HAHA I had a minecraft dream last night, It was after a new updated and it was really cool and I was about to tell a friend about it over steam when I noticed Notch doesn't update, and why would the update involve me being in the game... then I told my friend on steam "Hey have you seen the new minecraft update? well it doesn't matter because it's not real and this is just a dream." then I kept playing until the dream ended.

Lmao That's awesome. I love those dreams when you know you're dreaming.

OT: One time I went for a walk and kept looking for Fire hydrants and water fountains to recharge my health.
Also I make sure to know where the best way to jump up to the roof in case any of those pesky jerks with guns come out of the shadows and surround the building.

Not quite on-topic, but I have found myself pushing my Ventrilo push-to-talk key while on the phone before now...

You know you've playing to much Minecraft when you scream "HEROBRINE!" and run whenever you see another person.

I was watching Taken (I believe it was taken) and at one point the guy takes out 5 people and then hides under the bodies waiting for 3 more guys to enter the room. I'm sitting there on the couch and just uttered "Fucking camper". Too much FPS for me I think.

You know you've been on the xbox for too long when you start hearing the achievement sound every time you do something.

It's funny how about half of the posts here can be summed up with "...when you go insane for a few minutes/hours/days"

But yeah, i had Tony Hawk Vision (seeing potential Rails, Gaps and Jumps in your enviroment for over-the-top skating combos) and Burnout Rage Fantasies (Thinking about slamming into other drivers in real traffic).

Also, i sometimes try to imagine how certain things in my daily life would look like as a game (try to imagine yourself going down a street in Third Person, actually quite hard), but i'll mark that under daydreaming ^^

I was tearing through Mafia II one day and then I went to drive somewhere and I saw some people stopped at a stop light and my first thought was to just drive into oncoming traffic to get around them. I can also reverse like a madman now because of that game.

When your quicksave finger is twitching whenever you need to do anything.
That applies to everything.

I have a rule:

No driving after racing/driving games. I really cannot afford tickets. As well, being in traffic I often think of exactly what tire I'd need to shoot to make the car in front of me crash out of my way. That would be Just Cause 2 and Crackdown.
I actually have a similar problem. Played GT5 for about 7 hours straight, got into my car and wondered why i wasn't making it to 150 mph in 6 seconds.
Damn, but that Murcialago is a nice car though...
