When you hear a car alarm and you head snaps first to the source of the noise, then to any dark alleyways/rooftops as you reach for your nonexistent pipe bomb.

When you hear "butcher pete" or another fallout radio song and start listening for the ghoul's attack rasp, super mutants scraming at you, or the clicking of fire ants...

When you say "grabbin peelz" as you take medicine.

You play on a server, you're a regular.

You see another regular. After a round or two, other regular leaves.

Time passes. Same regular comes back and wonders why you're still on after five hours.

When it's turn 412, you're attempting to fight off Caeser and Montazuma whilst completing the last SS part and Wu Zeitan is being a bit of a ***** and won't sell me uranium because I wanted the fountain of youth from one of her protected city states which I invaded. Also it's 2 o'clock in the morning 0_0

I was on holiday once and we were about to go outside at night and my friend picked up two torches and I thought "Akimbo torches? WTF?" Thanks MW2...
Also whenever I watch a TV show and someone gets hit in the head I instinctively go "Boom. Headshot."
I think I might need to lay off CoD for a while...

A few months ago I got a bad solitaire addiction(good thing I kicked it now!) when it was at the worst(the worst a solitaire addiction could get, which is actually pretty bad) I swore I was playing the game on the back of my eyelids every time I closed them.
Boy, that was a bad month....

You know you've been playing Bulletstorm too long when you're judging your house for possible special skillshots.

You wake up when you're playing a game. I have actually fallen asleep playing a game several times. Once I was playing Grid, running a LeMans race, getting tired; eyes close for a second. NExt thing I know, it's the next morning, and I had won the race...and that damn techno music was ripping my soul apart.

Or when I see or hear a plane I instantly want to hit emergency dive or AA crews to their stations.

One last good one was during school in the middle of class, a friend of mine whistled the notes from L4D when a horde is coming; and I find myself tensing up.

I know when I've been playing too many games, when I think I've still got an older save-file of my life. The thought pops up in my head for just a split second and is immediately discarded. But, yeah, sometimes I think I have an older data of my life I could reload if things start to go real bad.

Also, I know I've been messing around in Photoshop for too long, if I go back to drawing with pencil and instantly tap the ctrl+z command with my left hand when I make a mistake.

Really damn irritating.

I came home one day, put on some Team Fortress 2. For no absolute reason at all, I decided to check my stats. I realized I had over 80 hours clocked in on almost every class, except for Medic.

I then continued to play.

You know you've been playing Modern Warfare 2 too long when you start calling moehawks 'the Mactavish cut'

You know you've played Bulletstorm too long when you walk down the street or do homework and imagine little skill points shooting up.

When I was a kid I played The Legend of Zelda so much that one night I got hungry and asked my mother for a heath potion.

Edit:
Erm, I guess you know you've been playing too long when you do that thing that I said.

God I will never forget this moment. I had been playing GTA4 online for weeks and one night I was driving with friend when suddenly some pedestrians were came into view and completely instinctively I started slightly veering the car towards them......I didn't even get out of the lane before catching myself and quite frankly being a little disturbed and scared of the scenario. Needless to say, I thought to myself "...Okay, thats definitely a sign to stop" ^^;
Wow... that's a more scary version of this:

When you not only dream about it, but have nightmares.

I had one where Gears of War 3 was delayed until late 2012, I woke up yelling "No Cliffy No! Don't take out Guardian!"

When your CPU is ~90 C...
That's a sign that your heatsink isn't doing it's job and needs cleaning and/or reseating and/or your case needs better ventilation. No CPU made should hit 90C.
Actually it was because my PSU was inadequate and was struggling to supply enough power to my system, meaning it reached 89 C eventually.

You know you play too much battlefield when you wonder why people aren't standing around in an empty garage waiting for the Abrams to spawn.

You know you play too much Gears of War when you have an impulse to hop over your couch and stack up on walls.

You know you've been playing too much Fallout when you sleep off broken limbs.

You know you've been playing too much Call of Duty when you've been playing Call of Duty.
