It was just... So... Disappointing...

This. I was expecting an epic tale of a species and its journey from the primordial soup to outer space. Instead I got 4 puddle-deep levels that all built up to a massive grindfest in space. What a waste of an awesome concept that was. Seriously Maxis, what the hell?

I didn't get excited about a new release for a year an a half until Civ 5 was announced. Sid Meier, please don't let me down. Please.

Metal Gear Solid 4, the stealth gameplay was so shallow and unsatisfying and I also didn't really care about all the AI and other sci-fi crap. I'd also pick MGS: Peace Walker for pretty much the same reasons, but it wasn't much of a dissapointment after MGS4. At least it convinced me to abandon the series.

Hasn't really happened to me, because I spend weeks on GameFAQs and youtube before deciding to get it or not.

If we count demos, Just Cause 2. The combat was terrible, the controls lagged, and the time limit meant it ended as soon as I finally started having fun. On top of that, the textures were shit, bodies faded instantly, the cars were uncontrollable and the voice acting was laughable.

It was a generic shooter with like 6 guns and a few really crappy magic powers. Oh and the enemies use melee? WTF was good about that game? If you say the black and white moral choices you should see a doctor.

Of course i'm a multiplayer guy.
