It's nice that someone has the balls to say that, albeit in an irritatingly childish way.
Seriously... everyone knows he is lying.... What I don't get is why he apologized!

People can flame me all they want.. I could care less. I have my opinion, and I am aware that it is unusual...

if we're talking about what i think we are talking about anyway
Really?
So Obama's not lying about the cost of the health care bill?

No way.
So I guess those quotes from the bill are wrong then...
by sentiment i mean the general, inexplicable, hatred for healthcare for reform the republican party seem to have. you'll have to excuse me for not knowing the specifics, i only know what the BBC reports.
either way, didn't he shout that when obama was speaking about the programme not being for illegal immigrants? i assumed that was what he was specifically calling a lie.
Most republicans do not hate healthcare reform (is that really what the BBC thinks?). The majority just don't agree with certain proposals, or doubt the intentions of some of the democrats.

I am disappointed that even Obama misrepresented some things and engaged in partisn politics. It's bad enough when republicans do it; why must democrats do the same?

I and everyone I know are not against reform.. REFORM!!! Not a complete restructure... I pay out the ass for my health care and I love it! If I get forced into some crappy health-care (even one such as Kaiser is crappy by my standards) I am gonna be pissed! And I will because I work entirely for small companies that will take the cheapest route instead of the best. It is a sneaky back-door approach to a take-over. Not to mention the cost...

Democrats are as partisan as they come. Republicans just own companies, whereas Democrats have their hands in so many company's pockets that it is ridiculous... we need to toss the whole government and start over if you ask me... even though that'll never happen.

all we get is toothless fuckers from the deep south saying shit like, "Jesus hates the NHS!!"
they may be misrepresenting the whole thing somewhat :)
but you gotta understand, we find it deeply shocking that (some) people from america have started holding up the NHS as the epitome of socialist evil. it's baffling.

Nope... I just endorsed his statement and saw the other one... so I mentioned it as well, due to the fact that I am aware of what is coming... lol

so wait, Obama says that illegal immigrants would not benefit from these healthcare reforms, and this dude calls him a liar, could someone please tell me what the fuck this means:

Code:
SEC. 246. NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS.
Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.
source [http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h3200/text?version=ih&nid=t0:ih:965]

does this contradict the "you lie!" dude or what? it all needs to be cleared up in any case

I think the problem was him yelling out in the middle of an address to the nation and even the world not the basis to why he said it, personally i disagree with him but thats just me.

we all know that, everyone thinks it's childish and prohibitive to proper discussion to make such an outburst, but I'm just interested if the reasoning behind his outburst is also faulty.

You guys should watch a session of the Canadian Parliament. It's like a elementary school playground. There's hissing, yelling, and constant booing. It's not quite as viscious as the british set up, but it's still quite unruly.

After the age of 11, i think most people understand the whole "Wait your turn" rule. Obviously someone is a little late on that one. Its a formal press conference, and hes shouting like its a playground. Your in politics, and a respectable position in politics, so grow up and act your age... and your position.

Over such a sensitive issue, I can understand if it was a kneejerk reaction to Obama's speech. However, if it was planned that he would shout "you lie" at some point, then he is clearly very rude.
That being said, that sort of thing happens all the time in the House of Commons in Britain. During Prime Ministers Questions, the opposition spend most of their time comming up with clever ways to call the PM an idiot while shouting and screaming at each other. British MP's make politics look like a small war. The comments at the Congress are nothing compared to House of Commons stuff

No. Affordability credits are not the same thing as being allowed to participate in the public option. The U.S. Supreme Court has generally held (as of late) that unless there are specific provisions in a bill the terms 'individual' or 'person' apply to all people illegal immigrant or not. So there are plenty of loopholes to work in this bill. This being only one.

That wasn't what got me, it's when everyone else went "oooohhhhhh" that pissed me off. You know, we have a place to act like 7th graders, and it's called MIDDLE SCHOOL. Maybe these fuckers that call themselves "politicians" need the attitude adjustment that your average teenager needs, which makes me sick. We should NOT be run by 12 year olds.

Yes, because nobody cared about that.

Plus, that was some middle eastern reporter guy. Not a freaking representative in our government.
