Dear god this. i tried to defend it when my friends bashed it, i honestly did, but the ending was just fucking terrible.

Monster Hunter.

After a particularly difficult hunt, I want some decent rewards.

I found gta4 to be extremely unrewarding. Chasing some guy or another across libery island and shooting him wasn't exactly exciting. Mind you this is after I shot a couple hundred pigeons for the lamest attack chopper ever.

Farcry 2, after getting into it I really liked it, and then it fucking dicked me over with a shit ending, and whats more the fact that you couldnt carry on exploring was incredibly fustrating.

Sandbox game with a linear ending, urgghh, its a shame I wasnt arsed to start a new game again.

I liked Borderlands, great game. The ending just disappointed me a bit...

Assassin's Creed 2, the last level is too linear and the final boss fight was nowhere near challenging.

Recently replayed through that. Laughed when I reached the final part of the fight.

O man, how I would have like to have sequel to that game!I mean, I couldn't really tell you the story right now, other than that it was about some guy with amnesia (who might or might not have killed the president) and a batshit insane conspiracy, but the style really made it work.

OT: Probably not the worst, but the one that filled me with the most rage, was Assassin's Creed. The first one. So I killed Al-Mualim. Finally. I'm a hero. And then I'm back in this damn laboratory, staring at symbols written in blood for the next few hours. And I wanted to know what this shit means, so I continued staring at walls covered in numbers. In the end I still didn't know what it was all about.

its just a supream example of a bad ending, in fact that hole story was awful.

Man, that ending was really awful.
Great game though.

Honestly, despite easily pouring over a hundred or two hours into that game, I never got to the end. I quit the main story after the second Daedra Portal. They wanted me to do 7 or so, and they were all the same exercises in tedium that I just couldn't put up with when there is so much fun to be had in the game, like the Dark Brotherhood or Thieve's Guild.

*GASP* I'm a sucker for the Halo Universe [don't hate me], and I thought the ending/epilogue mission was pretty sweet, mostly because it showed how dedicated Spartans are. :]

I also knew you were going to die [as did 6], but that didn't stop me from moking out as many Covies as I could. Plus, the way you finally go down is pretty cool too. Not even running out of ammo stops you from taking out the jerks that invaded your planet.

this... driving a boat and a pavelow got BLOWN UP and SET ON FIRE even though the pilot nwas shot...and then shepard looks at you and you throw it...blood loss would knock you out surely...

i feel like a lot of games are like, fuck it, we've kept you entertained for 12 hours, now we're just going to kill ourselves. for my worst payoff ending segment, i nominate conkers bad fur day. it was so original and entertaining up until the end of the war chapter. then it seems to lose all its zazz (with the exception of the matrix sequence, but that's not enough)
