"You missed the like button" on it's own is annoying, but I've laughed at a few "X people Y" in response to the thumbs down.

It's a "new" way to troll, and trolls are undefeatable and growing every day.

They also use Chuck Norris related posts.

I wish I could turn on an option to never see comments on youtube. The one you and sevre mentioned drive me up the fucking wall.
Gah, it's full of idiots!
For me, for you, and everyone else who doesn't want to see comments on youtube, there's an extension for Google Chrome that hides all the comments.

Right here:
https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/hbeblcelbmadebneggicbpkjhlppjoen

It saves your soul from all the trash that is posted every second on perfectly fine videos.

Use it and you shall live longer!

"Look at your comment, now back to mine. Now back at your comment now back to mine. Sadly it isn't mine, but if you stopped trolling and started posting legitimate comments it could look like mine. Look down, back up, where are you? You're scrolling through comments, writing the comment your comment could look like. What did you post? Back at mine, it's a reply saying something you want to hear. Look again the reply is now diamonds. Anything is possible when you think before you post."

I love that one.
But I hate the "OMG -female singer of band in video- IS SO HAWT!" or all the comments bout the werewolf dude in Call Me When You're Sober.

Youtube comments are far worse than like button jokes. So many arguments... never ending rage, *Duffman voice* stupidity, clouding judgement!

I don't even really bother with the comments. I watch a video and then when it's done, off to the next one.

Yeah, theyre pretty annoying. BUT if they are kind of clever and relating to the video they can actually be pretty fun. Examples:

X people tried to no-scope the like button (On an COD4 gameplay commentary)

X people slipped on his swag juice and missclicked (On a freestyle rap where "swag juice" were frequently used.

But tha'ts getting kind of annoying too now that everybody is using it.
X people were listening to the solo and had an orgasm so hard they spazzed out and pressed dislike. (Stairway to Heaven)

I seriously lol'd at that.

I usually ignore the comments.
Expecting any bit of intelligence, no matter how small in youtube comments is like... finding nicely pre-smelted gold bars in a coal mine.

I'll add on to your rant.

Copy and paste whores, or "Like" whores.

Examples:

Like this if you heard this on Guitar Hero!

On September 1rst, the Metal Militia will be attacking Justin Bieber! On September 1rst, go to Justin Bieber's "Baby" video, dislike it, and leave a negative comment, ending it with ~MM. All TRUE metalheads who enjoy REAL music will take up the call to arms, are you one of them? Like this comment so as many people can see it as possible, and if you are a real metalhead, copy and paste this to all your favorite videos! \m/!
[footnote]I seriously had to delete at least 10 of these comments from my videos per day, and eventually had to lock my comments sections until after September 1rst, which astonishingly got enough attention for their mission to be successful. Congrats Metal Militia, you irritating little shits.[/footnote]

I hate these guys. It's a combination of people who think they're funny but aren't, and people who say you shouldn't be allowed not to like a video. I'm sorry if I don't find your 5000th version of the sparta remix amusing, next time, i'll do my best to miss the dislike button.
