I'd go to the Buffyverse, Season 6, right after the events of Gone right in front of Buffy and Willow. Why yes, I have put alot of thought into this. The reason I'd select going in right after the events of Gone is because it would be where I'd have the most amount of secrets to exploit and help with. This would allow me to get in easier by fixing a bunch of the problems and also manipulate them into not being fucking retards and take precautions if the universe finds a way to do what canon did even with my interference (like planting a hatred of Kennedy in everyone before she even shows up). I'd be able to prevent every problem without the others finding out/it ever happening. Get Spike to go and get his soul early (or even better, just find that demon that has blood that makes vamps human again), get Willow and Tara back together earlier and prevent her from trying to bottle up her magic, save Xander and Anya's marriage, stop Dawn's kleptomania without the huge fallout (and perhaps insult her once for not removing the tags) and give a verbal beating to Giles for running off when he did. I'd stay there, never leaving (and I'd at least try to get together with the character I have a crush on, the helping out without telling the others should make her at least be friendly with me). I've put a bit too much thought into this, haven't I? I guess I'm just a bit obsessed.
I was going to say Buffy, too! I'd definitely want to get there before the end of season 6, so that I could do something to save Tara. I'd probably want to get there even earlier so that I could start helping out and getting to know everyone before just appearing near the end of Sunnydale. I wish that I could be a potential slayer, activated later, but I want to learn magic, too. Ha, the second that I landed I'd be making a bee-line for the Magic Box. And the best thing? The Scoobies would be totally okay with the idea of someone arriving from another dimension! You wouldn't even have to lie or make up any backstory to fit in!
"You know how, like Anya said, you could uh, could have like a world without shrimp. Or with, you know, nothing but shrimp. Or, um, a world where your lives and adventures are a television show. For example."
Giles would just clean his glasses, shrug, and things would go on as before. I'd probably have to start imitating River Song from Doctor Who, constantly warning of spoilers, though.
Ooh, I'd definitely want to get there in season 3, now that I think of it, so that I could meet and help Faith. She's my favorite character. I love Faith.
