I live in a one-room student apartment, and because of some weirdness in my layout I ended up having no space for, like, a small couch or some chairs so I can receive visitors to play games with or something. So all there really is to sit on together is a huge king-sized bed and the only other person I want in my bed is a lover. And as I lack a lover, no one really comes over. There just ain't no space for visitors.

Which is a shame because as far as student apartments go I have a damn sweet setup. Humongous bed, decently sized HDTV with consoles and a PC hooked up to it I can game on or watch movies/shows on from said bed and a fridge and pantry almost within arm's reach. Buuut I don't want friends on my bed, it's just a private space for me.

So I'm alone here, which is a shame. This setup is best enjoyed in tandem. So eh, *ahem*, ladies...

You're in my bedroom? Better be having sex with me. Or admiring my manga collection.

You need to be a level 4 friend (unlocked by the quest where you slay an orc to retrieve my precious childhood memory) to enter.
So that's what I use those childhood memories for! Man they've been in my bags for like the last 5 levels, and the Wiki was horribly outdated.
Return it to me an you unlock 'Befriended Lieju' achievement.

You get +2 to patience and useless knowledge and can summon me once a day to throw animal-facts at someone or use the skill 'be honest about your flaws'

My dad just opens the door when he wants. Never catches me doing anything awkward because he can't catch me at the right times (he works early morning to afternoon, I work graveyard).
My sister and mother knock, but don't wait for an answer.
I hate it, but I put up with it. At least no one goes through my stuff.

There's only one person who is allowed in my room. ME! No one else, man or God, is allowed in my domain.

I don't care for it to be honest, But if someone has to enter then they damn well better knock!

Unless it's a significant other or someone with whom sexy time might happen, then there very welcome.

If you're in my room, we're probably about to have sexy times and/or play games.
That came out pretty stupid. My point is I live alone, and only my girlfriend comes into my bedroom.
This is exactly my situation. If you're a guest, then you're probably in my living room/kitchen/dining room. However, if you're in my bedroom, then I'm probably in the process of having sex with you.

Once I first got my own house though, my friends had a hard time accepting that if they just randomly show up at my house, I probably won't be very welcoming to them. I want you to send me a text asking if you can come over before you think you can just show up and I'll stop what I was doing to spend time with you.

Now my friends never randomly show up, so that problem doesn't arise anymore. Most of my friends know where my spare key is located, its not infrequent for them to ask if they can pick up something they left/just chill at my house but I won't be home, so I'll give them permission to let themself in.

It's just me and the wife, so the bedroom is fairly closed off from the rest of the house, and I rarely get others that need anything from it. Occasionally the landlord'll do a walk about, but tends to do her level best to ignore everything in the room itself after an incident that left her quite embarrassed. She'll check the smoke detector and windows and leaving as quickly as possible, and I'll get a note saying all is fine.

I think I'd have a lot more problems with anyone entering my art studio then my room.

My room is an absolute mess and my sheets are usually half-off. Then again the rest of my apartment is messy af as well. My dad is the only one who comes into the bedroom since that's where the video games are and we play video games together, but it's messy and I'm lazy so deal with it. Also never had a girlfriend so the messy isn't really a problem except when I step on the plastic water bottles at night.

My room is consistently a mess. So I prefer people to warn me when they plan on coming over to my house so I can tidy up a bit.
Otherwise, I usually make my room specifically for when people come over.
I keep a couple folding chairs in here, I have multiple consoles and TV's in here, with quite a few controllers for each.
If anything, I almost wish people came over more.
Until I can afford to get my own place anyway, that's how my room is. Posters everywhere, electronics spread on everything, and the rest if clutter of things I've used at some point by probably lost interest in, like my 3DS, or that stack of Magic cards over there. And those airsoft guns I've never actually used. And that green screen with stand I bought years ago.

I would say yes. I am annoyed by people in my room. When I was in High School and working, my co-workers and I would hang out after work and in my room - since my brothers took over the basement and the said co-workers were a bunch of chicks. So, I had them in my room and before they even got in there, I would make up something like, I gotta get dress, which should only take a few seconds. Well, I was really just quickly cleaning up, since I was a High School boy and my carpet was stained with puke from nights of coming home drunk. I would cover it with baskets and clear my internet history of anything ... since they loved to go on my computer. Also, my bed was disgusting at the time since I was a major slob and drooled on my bed. It was quite awkward at times, including my mother checking in on me every five minutes, thinking I was banging these two chicks all the time. Yeah, I'm not the type of guy that screws women while my family is in the house.

I am not a huge fan of people being in my room, and will often want them to leave after about 30 minutes. I am quite private and my room is no exception.

I'm okay with it if I'm there. It drives me nuts when I'm not around.

When I was back at my parent's, my mom often asked me to "lend" the room for family since it's the only place with a double-sized bed. That made me uncomfortable. Mostly because it was my "judging" aunts and uncles.

The only thing worse than not knocking is knocking and then entering anyway, that way you know they didn't even forget. Thankfully I have my own place so this isn't a problem anymore.

I don't mind people being in my room so long as I'm there; entering my room without my permission and especially when I'm not there is a big no no.

Door's closed for a reason; if you want to come in please knock, it's courteous and means I'm not interrupted or surprised by your appearance, and can greet you genially. Not too difficult really.

Why not both? Though I think it would be quite insulting to have a partner reading a manga as you plow them (or vise versa).

*topic* I'm not one of the many people here who are borderline OCD when it comes to their rooms. If someone wanted to enter my room and they asked, I'm okay with that. If the person entering my room is my sister or my dungeon master and his wife, then I'm alright with them entering, just knock if the door is closed (who knows? I could be busy with a woman and they have entered at the wrong time. I wish). Of course, I will object if someone waltzes in without my permission. I would not do that to anyone else.

People rarely come in for very long, but when they do, I find it difficult to take my eyes off them. Where are they looking? What are they doing?

My dad comes in most frequently and for the longest (5 minutes or so), he's kind of like me to my little brother in that way, he's not super respectful of the room boundary...I really need to get out of that habit. :p

It's very simple, actually: No one but me ever goes in my bedroom. If I'm going to have guests, I shut the door. I don't give tours of the house, so no one is ever shown. I don't date, so there's no concern about taking women in there.

And no, it's not a hentai dungeon or anything. It's simply the one room in the house that I allow to be as messy as it wants to be.
