Turns out there was a fine print in women's suffrage that it would expire at that days date, and everyone kinda missed it. Whoops. It's also like what? Two weeks before the presidential election?

What do you do in response? More importantly, how long are you willing to wait patiently for them to renew it? And if they start taking to long, if you're a feminist, how long before you start to rebel against the government?

This is all part of my larger question of, just when is it ethical for one to rebel against their own government?

Now I myself... Wouldn't do a damn thing, sadly. It's not that I don't care, it's that I'm far to bogged down in my own selfish endeavors (university, making enough money for gas) that I wouldn't have much time to actually physically protest. I'd certainly closely follow the situation though, if nothing else to cheer on from the sidelines and observe how things play out.

Like whatever group pops up on Facebook in protest.

It's the least I could do. It's also the most I can do :|

Well, society would fucking end, so all my shit wouldn't matter much anymore. I'd focus on fixing it. I'd literally abandon school and a job opportunity to ***** at every local representative. To be blunt, anyone of either gender who thinks you'd have an option besides protesting as well as just convincing everyone to just count the women's votes and ignore the law, you live in a fantasy world.

That's half the country having their opinion confiscated. We'd collapse. Pretty damn quickly too.

It's not confiscated, no one actively took it away, just the rule granting it expired and no one was pay attention.

I'm a little shocked that you'd think such a sudden turn of events would just descend the entire country into chaos. More than likely it would be restored in a matter of days to a month.

They should just take away men's votes while they're at it.

It's not like the popular vote has ever meant anything.

Decide issues via boxing match.

Oh please, everyone knows the only correct way to decide such important matters is a tag-cage-death-match.

On topic:
I would go to the streets.
I am not an avid activist, but this would get me to revolt.

I think it would be a interesting gesture to get men to sign petitions to let women have their vote. I don't think outside that I would do all that much on the assumption that the government was indeed fixing the issue.

I would probablt think something like "Well it was bout time!"

Well maybe not, my thoughts would actually be along the line of "WTF!!!!!!" Then I'd think dreamed, just move on until I'd realise it's reality and start wondering what the hell is going on.

Not do anything, as its America's problem and I'm not America.

If it were to happen in Australia, I'd just keep living my normal life and vote for whoever promised to bring it back. Not much more I can do that other won't, really, and I need to focus on getting my own life properly stable, rather than larger problems people with more time can deal with.

If it was American women? Sigh, and mutter something along the line of "Come the fuck on, America! Get your shit sorted."

If it was in the Netherlands, try and help to get it fixed asap I guess. Whether that would be through petitions, rallies or a bloody revolution (very unlikely) I don't know.

I have no idea about the question. I'm certainly not an organiser, or a leader, I'm more a follower. So I would only protest alongside other protesters.

I think that you're entitled to violent revolution as soon as peaceful revolution is prevented. If they stop peaceful protests, or refuse to listen for an extended period, rendering such protests useless, go for it. Kill the fuckers. "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable."-JFK.

Since 2001, the world has had this massive thing about terrorists. But I've always looked to that saying "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." It all depends on how just you see the cause as, and how virtuous those fighting for it are, and what means they use.

"Dissent, rebellion, and all-around hell-raising remain the true duty of patriots."-Barbara Ehrenreich.

First I would stock up on food and ammo. Then I would stay inside for the duration of the ensuing riots.

I would then proceed to sit around and play video games for the 2 days that the legislation lasted.

If for some INSANE reason it lasted longer and my state supported it, I would go to my state capital with a hood on my head, carpenters mask on my face and a Molotov in my hand.

Good times would be had by all.

Then I would congratulate mister Romney on his presidency and wait patiently for my state's secession.

I would think the US government are fucknuts for doing so...but aside from that, I wouldn't really care, being a citizen of NZ.
