Wait, the show was around for 5 years? Shit, I thought it debuted last year! I only watched like 3 episodes when I decided to stay in for Saturday nights. Looked okay.
No it hasn't lasted for 5 years in real llife. The show itself went into a five years timeskipped itself in season 2.

Man, Aqualad was my favorite character. I hate now that he's working for the bad guys or more specifically for his dad.

Well I read somewhere they wanted Wondergirl in the original roster but they couldn't due to legal reasons. I guess the timeskipped is their way for adding her onto the team as the roster became big at the end of season 1.
Well, that makes even less sense than every Generation 1 character being lost, with the exception of Applejack and Spike.
What not to get?

They wanted Wondergirl in the show at the start but they couldn't because of some legal reason.

It's like how in the Legion of Superhero show they had to use the name Superman despite Clark wasn't a man yet because the name Superboy is own by someone and that person didn't want the name to be used in the show (eventhought in the comic he was going by the name Superboy in the Legion of Superheroes comicbook).

Sure you can argue why not simply add her to the first team in season 2 if they could not to do a timeskipped but they would of been a plothole since Wonder Woman never mention her in season 1. The way Wondergirl act in season 2 seen to imply she is somewhat new to being a superhero so the 5 years timeskipped kind of match to her inexperience.
DC really needs to keep better track of their own copyrights.
