I have noticed a very irritating but common trend with younger games from the ages of about
11 - 16, My brother for example was having a hard time defeating the first boss of Red Steel 2 when after the first try started screaming at the screen. We have a whole generation behind us who will become the most rage filled gaming generation ever i serously dont want to go online to hear this when i play and am not looking forward to that in the near future. . .

Don't worry.

Chances are, the majority of those crazy arse holes will grow up and calm down once they're older.

Sure, some of them will remain whiny gits, but then there are whiny gits in every generation...

I know what you mean, my cousin (11) can't even pass Ratchet and Clank TOD first level without help.

They're actually probably the worst possible role models along with porn stars and pedophiles.

Well we all have angry moments but were now in an age of FPS (nothing wrong with them) but when unskilled players get killed it just builds rage.

I mean im now 20 and many of a time online i have started getting angry cause of unsuportive players but meh lol.

Depends on the player. I know several people like your brother, some younger then him, like my soon-to-be nephew-in-law who will quit any game, video or otherwise, if he is not immediatly good at it and some older, in my age (30-40) range who will get equally frustrated by games and simply not want to play after a few failed attempts. Guys seem to be more rage prone then girls, but even that has exceptions.

I think you see it less as you get older because once you get out of school, you quickly learn that no one cares if you aren't happy in real life, and you can't just scream and run away from things that are hard unless living on wellfare is your life goal. It is made even worse by the schools giving out trophies to every kid who plays in a sport, win or lose, because it give kids the false belief that they should be rewarded regardless of thier performance. Video games do not give you the win, even if the boss kills you though.

I can't stand them, and i don't like to hear the high-pitched voices telling me that "ur ghey" and "i did ur mom". this reinforces my current theory about the last good generation.

I do not get angry playing video games.

I think the young kids should go back and play some of the shit I had to deal with.
Beat silver surfer
beat all the mega man games
try to beat ghost busters 2 or robocop or robocop 2 on the NES.
Play roguelikes, if you only own a PS3 beat NG+ on demon's souls.

Gamers now-a-days are spoiled whiney shits who expect to win all the time and face no fucking challenge in a game. This makes almost all games absolutely BORING as hell. If I don't die at least 30 times in a game of reasonable length it is not hard enough.

Yeah, starting to see that, especially on Multiplayer.

I'm getting a lot of hatemail for being a 'pussy', when in reality I'm just doing what the better guys do to me all the f-ing time.

But yeah, hate hearing it. >.>

Trust me, about 70% of the people you see online will have completely lost interest in games in a few year's time. A large portion of XBL/PSN is done by adolesents and teenagers just because playing games online is 'the done thing'.

I can't speak for the future gaming community however.

Remember singleplayer and the mute button will always exist!

I get angry when game-mechanics break and it isn't in my favour (i.e. MW2 having stupid delays online meaning that my melée kills don't trigger and the melées me instead)

I don't know about you, but I used to RAGE at games when I was a pre-teen. Mario maddened me, Frogger frustrated, and Tomb Raider took it too far. As I grew up, I learned to accept defeat in a manner more befitting a person of such incredible good looks a modest manner. They'll grow out of it.

[sub]I still get pissed off at Mega Man though[/sub]

You mean you didn't yell and scream at a super hard boss when you were a kid?

I'm 13 and I hate the generation before me. They're a year older and they scream and shout and yell and make your ears bleed.
Worst part is none of the have hit puberty.
