I'll admit that it was my least productive year to date. I can't say that I didn't try, so I have nothing to feel bad for.

Thankfully, there was a lot of awesomeness that went on that year to keep me in high spirits. After today, I'm really invigorated to try even harder and to make this year truly memorable.

Good:
My kids. Are. Awesome. They just are.
After being told my paperwork was behind, clearing it all up.
Having Christmas off for the first time since 2005. Watching the fireworks from my boat.
Seeing my abs for the first time in a loooong time.
Heavy weapons course.
Having a loving, secure and stable marriage with a wonderful woman.

Bad:
Finding a 6yr old girl hanging from her jump-rope, and the rest of that job.
Starting to hate, really hate where I'm at with my job.

Overall, I have no right to complain and must celebrate a truly wonderful year. Sorry if yours doesn't stack up but believe me, I earned this!

My Good
- Coupled with a pair of couples
- Haven't been fired: lasted over a year with my current employer
- Reconnecting with bestest friends from years long past

My Bad
- Had to move out of the GF's place...
- Neurotic about financial situation
- Continuing to drift from not only my Dad but his entire side of the family

Gaming Good
- Wii U
- Virtual Boy
- Mass Effect 3 (beaten once on U)
- New Super Mario Bros 2 & U
- Star Trek Conquest

Gaming Bad
- Shadows of the Damned
- Prince of Persia Sands of Time on the PS2...with cover art that looks like the movie tie-in game...(not bad-bad but WTF?!)
- Data East Collection price increase
- Adventure Time 3DS Collector's Ed price increase
- Lack of Wii U game release date info

Good:

Managed to earn two diplomas in a year, one with distinctions, so I'm doubly qualified going into my chosen field, which is awesome.
Got to go to Singapore, which is an awesome country, despite the heat
Got my first blowjob, I guess it's something
First year I was able to drink legally
Drunk a lot of alcohol with friends

Bad:

Got friendzoned by a total of 3 girls, one of whom was the girl I've loved for 5 years
Lost a lot of sleep gaining diplomas mentioned above
Started to realise that people who I thought where my friends actually invite me to places cos I'm the final option
Still no job which of course equals no money

Pretty good year, no worse than the last, but it all balances out in the end huh? But I'm working to make 2013 better.

It started with three family deaths and ended with moving in to our own house.
So, ups and downs.
Bit meh on the media side of things though. Nothing really grabbed me, other than batman.

Bad

Lost two of my closest friends due to stupid bickering
Girlfriend dumped me
Felt like shit for 3 weeks
Had to deal with douchy students
Reverted to being antisocial and not going out as much as I used too
Lost another great friend due to the first one (he is married to one of them)
Felt useless and nonexistant compared to my other friends
Friend almost died due to his lung collapsing

Good

After 3 weeks, I am completely over my last relationship (Thank God I move on quickly)
Currently talking to another woman that I like (though I doubt it will turn into anything, which I am ok with)
Bought many games that I really enjoyed
Saw some old friends and cousins that I haven't seen in years
FINALLY GRADUATED UNIVERSITY (the single best thing that happened to me last year)
Going to the Air Force (but thats really for this year)

The Good

Net disposable income went up markedly.
Moved back to the city.

The Bad
Stabbed in the back by now ex-best friend.
Had my heart broken in June, still pretty fucked up about it.

Overall
2012 was utter wank. Ho-hum.

The Good:

- Did well in my A-level exams after lots of work.
- Have plenty of money for whatever I want.
- Got into such franchises as Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed, as well as some really good releases this year.
- Got into anime (can't stop watching now).

The Bad:

- My social life took a big hit when everyone went to university.
- I hate university and I hated the accommodation even more, causing me to move out and transfer to a uni I could commute to every day from home.
- I've learnt that I'm completely unhappy with how the world works and that I'll never have any significant effect on anyone.
- Still haven't had a relationship yet.

Overall:

A good year until September time when it just got terrible, and it's still terrible now, so I don't have very high hopes for 2013 given how 2012 ended.

The good:

- health got a lot better
- met a great woman
- went to see a lot of concerts/acts
- vacationing in the States and on Aruba
- (edit) got the all clear scan (concerning my illness) in November

The bad:

- health was very bad the first 3 months of 2012
- things didn't work out with the aforementioned woman

Overall:
the year started pretty badly but got better until it peaked in August, after that nothing bad happened and it plateau-ed at pretty good.

EDIT: added another good

Good
Girlfriend! Yay me.
Job! MONEY! SPENDING!
Got a PS3 with the aforementioned jobmoneyspending.
Lots of great games got released this year.
Oooh, new computer a few months ago. Running great, just thinking about getting a new processor.

Bad
Since I've stopped having to see friends (school and such) I'm seeing them a lot less often.
Starting to dislike living in the house I'm in, brother keeps bringing annoying friends around, mum is switching between "Nice person" and "mega raging *****" over an issue with the brother that she could fairly easily solve by just kicking his arse out.
Seeing my dad's side of the family even less often than before because he's living in another country now.
Lots of not so great games got released this year.

All in all, pretty good. A few issues I'd like to have resolved, but I dunno if I'm all that ready mentally or practically to do so right now.
