What were your five favorite games back in the days of the SNES and the Genesis? (or even further?)
Here is my list:

5. Sonic the Hedgehog (whole series)
4. Starflight
3. Herzog Zwei
2. Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
1. Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday (In fact, I am playing this right now on an emulator. )

This is a tough list to make. Super Metroid was easy as it's the best game ever made in my opinion, but the rest were hard to choose.

I'm currently replaying FFIV, which is not as good as I remember it being. But having also replayed Crono Trigger and FFVI, I'm confident they deserve a mention here. SMW is still the best Mario (again IMO) and I didn't like the SNES Castlevanias but thoroughly enjoyed part III on the NES.

This was really hard because I was really young when I played the Genesis games and didn't get to play the NES until later on. My first experience with Legend of Zelda was on Animal Crossing and didn't play Ninja Gaiden until even later.

Honorable Mention goes to Super Mario Bros 3 because of the fun me and a friend have had with it.

-Streets of Rage (I really think side-scrolling beat´em ups should make a comeback)
-Golden Axe (hearing the screams of the enemies while they die is enough reason to love it, AAAARRRGGHHHH!!!)
-Revenge of Shinobi (Ninjitsu FTW)
-Sonic the Hedgehog (the best Genesis game ever)
-Super Hang-On (part racing game, part rpg...all awesome)
