So I recently played Black Ops and I really enjoyed the Vietnam level that had the Rolling Stones Sympathy for the Devil playing while you went through the level. Thinking about it I'm kinda hoping that this music formula will be used again in the future.

So Escapist if you were to put a classic 60s rock song in a Vietnam level similar to the one in Black Ops what song would you pick?

I would definitly pick Helter Skelter by the Beatles, or Good Times Bad Times by Led Zeppelin.

I'm thinking either "American Pie" (Don Mclean), "Revolution" (The Beatles), or "God's Gonna Cut You Down" (Johnny Cash).

Bah, they were all alive during the sixties, at least.

I think it was late 60's, but it's after Khe Sanh and TET so it's really only good for late Vietnam war.

Fortunate Son is, like, *the* Vietnam song, it seems.

Still, pretty much any Zeppelin or Stones song would work.
A good chunk of Hendrix would work, too.

Fortunate son is my Vietnam favourite (It came out in 1969 BTW), along with this one...

I go in with style.
I thought the qualifier was 60's music...

Screw it! Let's kill some Charlies 19th century style!
Oh son of a *****. That's right. I just watched the film recently. Alright, I'll have to give a viable option then "Dazed and Confused" by Led Zeppelin.

Sorry, I've been a little out of the loop, but why did EA decide to remake Battlefield: Vietnam when there are so many other wars left untouched?

'The End' by The Doors. It's probably been in some Vietnam movie I've seen which is why I thought of it, but it's fitting nonetheless.

Off Topic:
Because "Battlefield: Iranian Hostage Crisis" didn't sound right, "Battlefield: Rwanda" and "Battlefield: Yugoslavia" were too controversial...

More seriously, what would you have picked? A lot of the other wars of the past century are either too similar in context or wouldn't offer enough content for a video game.

As someone else said CCR's Fortunate Son is 'THE' Vietnam song.

Aside from that Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower which has also been said.

And this one for the Navy pilots, blasting Napalm on large chunks of jungle several flying at 400 miles and hour or so.

no idea if it's 60's or not, and this version isn't the best tempo or tone for what you're doing, but it's still a great song. good background
