no idea if it's 60's or not, and this version isn't the best tempo or tone for what you're doing, but it's still a great song. good background
I agree, great song. But that's straight up 70's psychedelic rock. '75 or '76. *checks wikipedia* Yeah, 1976.

i knew it was out of his year-range, but not that it was that far off.

perhaps you could check some songs by the rolling stones. I got a bunch of their music for christmas, and a lot of it is exactly what you're looking for.

Sorry, I've been a little out of the loop, but why did EA decide to remake Battlefield: Vietnam when there are so many other wars left untouched?
Off Topic:
Because "Battlefield: Iranian Hostage Crisis" didn't sound right, "Battlefield: Rwanda" and "Battlefield: Yugoslavia" were too controversial...

More seriously, what would you have picked? A lot of the other wars of the past century are either too similar in context or wouldn't offer enough content for a video game.
Well, the immediate reaction to me would have been to make a Korean war game. Korea has been in the news a lot recently so they can coast along on Kim Jong Il's publicty coat-tails, and I can't remember a single game based on it.

More importantly, why would they think of re-doing Vietnam when they already made a game around 5 years ago. People's attention spans really aren't that short.

People, people. I think we all know the true song to play in Vietnam.

My top picks would be 'Gimme Shelter' by the stones and 'Voodoo Child' by Hendrix. 'Run through the jungle' by Creedence Clearwater Revival is another classic.

'The End' by The Doors. It's probably been in some Vietnam movie I've seen which is why I thought of it, but it's fitting nonetheless.

We Gotta Get Outta This Place

I've read that one of the most amazing sights ever witnessed was a hundred Marines on Khe Sanh playing air guitar on their M16s to this song.

A very violent trailer with 'Ruby, Don't take your love to town' The Kenny Rogers version is fine, but I prefer the Killers' cover. I would just like the contrast, and that you see the violence which led to the character in this song's unfortunate situation.

Then again, not sure if the original was from the 60s, the Killers' cover definitely wasn't.

Also, it's not rock.

How hasn't Sympathy for the Devil been mentioned by name yet?
Another good one, but it's folk instead of rock. But if we're including Ride of the Valkyries, what the hell.
