Disgaea: Hour of Darkness was by far my favourite. Most of my favourite games are from 2 or 3 gens ago, in the N64 and SNES eras respectively.

For me, it's Star Wars Battlefront 2. I still play this game at least once a month, and my buddy's brother still plays online almost every day.

It's a tie between Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and Final Fantasy X.

Both games were true gems. ^_^

I don't categorize in generations.
What's the threshold between current and last gen games?
I remember oblivion being hailed as a next gen game, and it's pretty old by now.
So games from before that?
Or is it purely graphical?

I guess it would be Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean for the Gamecube, it had the worst voice acting I have ever heard, but overall the game itself is amazing!

Shadow of the Colossus. Almost without question. I suspect that game will be a favorite of mine for many many many years.

Mine is definitely Soul Calibur II, followed closely by Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction and Freedom Fighters (no one I talks to remembers Freedom Fighters though)

Wind Waker, Metroid Prime and Resident Evil 4, for me.

I think I completed the first two a minimum of 3 times, and 11 for Resident Evil.

On the PC, since the "generations" are non-existant, I think I'd go with Half-Life 2.

Ah, I have had so many memories on past gen consoles. My favorite was KotOR, because A) it was Star Wars, and B) it was a pretty good RPG. I've also had good memories with Wind Waker and Pikmin. I'd play all three games for hours.

Ah. Good times.
