"It's only cheating if you get caught doing it, otherwise it's just taking the initiative."

Army obstacle course instructor when I was in the Cadets. Words to live by really. If you're not cheating, you don't want to win as much as the other guy.

"Blasphemy," she told herself. "God grants strength, not taxicabs."

-from The Stand

Certainly one of the most profound statements I've ever heared.

'pologies.

Mine is this:
I know what you're thinking ? "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But, being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

It is from the movie Dirty Harry [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirty_harry] and it's my all time favorite quote.

Write your all time favorite quote here, whether it's from a movie, a song, your mother, or god!
Provide as much info as you can about your all time favorite quote.

But seriously I'm going to have to say "Argh! Fresh meat!" by the Butcher.

Apparently, my younger brother is found of repeating one of my rants from work:

Upon discovering that other trades (in particular, the plumbers) were using a rubbish bin that was specifically marked as 'Roof Debris Only', I hollered down from the 6 story roof at one that he needed to climb in and pull the cast iron pipe right back out of OUR bin. He yelled back some explicit sexual instructions. The conversation ended with the following:

"If you don't climb in there and get it, you and my 2lb framing hammer are going to have a discussion. It's going to have gravity on it side."

I got written up.

MY favorite line ever is one of these:

"Good, bad, I'm the guy with the gun."
"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."
You gotta think about it like the first time you got laid. You gotta go: "Daddy, are you sure this is right?"
"Bouncing Baby Buddha and Jesus-on-a-pogo-stick, what the fuck do you think you're going to do with that thing?"

"Only two things are infinite - the universe, and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

One of the few, scarce quotes I've actually memorized, or that have just stuck with me.

Also, almost all of Mark Twain's quotes are brilliant.
