Honestly, no. I've always been able to adapt to technology, old or new, in a matter of just a few minutes without any real difficulty. Go figure.
Waits a minute... You can make arrowheads?

Any way, older style computers. Oh not the the personal computers, no the the punch sheet computers, I feel really awkward around them. Not sure why.

I was more referring to telephones and things of that nature, seeing as making arrowheads wouldn't be considered a "technology", it's more of a craft.

Clockmaking is a craft but clocks are a time measurement technology. Sundials are a more primitive time measurement technology. The word "technology" is a really really broad term.

Sorry for getting all dictionary on you, but I'm defending it as the subject of my post.

I was always absolutely enthralled by the thermostat as a child. Computers were cool, but for some reason I can't quite remember, the thermostat was God.

Anytime I use a Mac I feel like I'm using a computer designed by a mental patient, yeah they're fast, but if it take me twenty fucking minutes to find the application I'm looking for then I'm not exactly moving fast am I? Why would they screw with a system that works so well? If they had just kept the same basic format that Windows uses I think Macs would be a lot more popular.

Thread title: I think this is pretty much how the entire cast of Stargate feels, all of the time.

[sub]Yes, I came into this thread to say that. And now I feel really, really nerdy.[/sub]

I couldn't use my grandma's old TV. The concept of "dials" on a TV seemed so foreign to me. And I had to actually get off the chair and walk over to the TV to change the channel. Old technology sucks.
True but that still makes you sound kinda lazy

OT: the concept of vinyl records used to confound me to know end

Ha ha YES. I agree. I thought that this WAS a Stargate thread.

OT: I usually can figure out old technology fairly quick but lighting a fire with a little stick and a piece of string and stuff like that I can't do.

Americans and their lack of electric kettles. Extraordinary really. The concept of heating water on a gas stove seems so primitive and inconvenient. I guess this is what happens when a country doesn't bother with tea and drinks real coffee, rather than something made from a saché.

I have a friend who still has an old decrepit NES that he must have a Shining-like mental connection with because I cannot get the thing to work ever. I'll stick with my emulator, thank you.

Also, "This concept of 'wuv' confuses and INFURIATES US!!!"

Cookie for you. I was wondering if anybody would catch my subtle nod towards my favorite late night cartoon.

Technology is almost always immediately intuitive to me. If it runs on springs, fuel, or electricity, I can get it to work. The only thing that's ever caused me any problems is vertically inverted analog controls. That, and my sister's Blackberry keyboard. Un-fucking-usable. That last one might be due to my grotesquely large hands and my over-reliance on T9-Word.

Texting on cellphones. Do not like. Besides, I can use my tone of voice to tell an inappropiate joke better than if I was using short-shorthand grammar failure.

Ah, this calendar thing my mom got a couple years ago. It's so hard to read and tell the date, and all of these kooks keep talking about an apocalyptic prophecy..
