Oh, Elffybaby, I did tell you that I watched and enjoyed it. And it was in no small part in thanks to Rias. But still! I just can't give it a point. I can see it being in a person's top 20 maybe, but just not top 9.Elfgore said:Snip.
6/9 for your tastes. I love me some Tenchi Muyo and Burnup Excess doesn't get enough love these days. Polar Bear Cafe is uber hipster mode though, couldn't get into it.Scarim Coral said:Snip.
5/9. Log Horizon was enjoyable and you just can't go wrong with Battleship Yamato. Ghost in the Shell and FMA are always safe bets and they seem to be showing up on a lot of lists here.scotth266 said:Snip.
I give your tastes a 7/9. I've said it before and I stand by my opinion that Kill la Kill is extremely overrated and that Black Rock Shooter was a steaming pile of wasted potential. I actually agree with you about SAO's second arc. Fairy Dance was easily the worst arc in all of SAO. Do watch the second season that starts next week though, Gun Gale Online is flippin' fantastic and hopefully the Mother's Rosaria is excellent as well. I suspect that if S2 is popular enough Mother's Rosario will probably get a movie release.RipVanTinkle said:Snip.
4/9. So much shounen. I'm afraid my tastes are just too different to yours. Seems you're a mucher bigger fan of grimdark and gore than I am.karloss01 said:Snip.
8/9 because I actually haven't seen Natsume yet. Worth a watch, I suppose, since the rest of your list matches well with me.AdrianCeltigar said:Snip.
5/9 because I'm not that big of a fan of manly men doing manly things. I'm more of a cute girls(or cute boys, in the case of Kore wa Zombie desu ka) doing cute things.deserteagleeye said:Snip.
4/9. I'll never understand why people enjoyed Shingeki no Kyoujin so much. It was obvious that the author was just making shit up as he went even before he publicly admitted to doing so. I'll let Saya no Uta slide too, since it was such a fantastic VN. It's too bad it will never get an adaptation, I suppose it wouldn't really work out though.II2 said:Snip.
8/9 because again, Kill la Kill is killing all these potential 9/9s.SuperSuperSuperGuy said:Snip.
7/9 here because I haven't watched Blood C (I've only read summaries and seen the gifs) and I got bored and dropped Code Geass.wooty said:Snip.
2/9 only because I haven't seen or finished most of the chows you picked. I'm glad to see the original Dragon Ball on somebody's list though. It had a charm to it that DBZ never managed to capture.mindfaQ said:Snip.
You also get 2/9 for the same reason as above. I've not seen or finished most of the shows on your list.Aerosteam said:Snip.
I actually had never heard of it until about a month ago, and then almost I ignored it since I'm not a huge fan of the magical girl subgenre. I'm really glad I didn't.sextus the crazy said:Just looking at all of these, I glad that there's a giant amount of Madoka love going around. Not that it's surprising, given the sheer amount of shit that's been affiliated with the series in only 3 years. Not even Eva got this whored out in that amount of time.
Urusei Yatsura and Maison Ikkoku are based on manga by Rumiko Takahashi who did InuYasha, UY was huge in Japan back in the 80's and it's popularity put everything else she's done to shame. While Maison Ikkoku is her masterpiece with a proper conclusion, check out the manga only 14/15 volumes depending on the addition. UY is also were Mamoru Oshii got his first success before he did Ghost in the shell.deserteagleeye said:Christ man I haven't heard of any of those except for Lupin the 3rd. Okay here's my 3x3 lets hope this works, clockwise from left.
Urusei Yatsura, Royal Space Force, Bubblegum Crisis, El Hazard, Gunbuster, Lupin 3rd castle of Cagliostro, Patlabor, Dominion Tank Police and Maison Ikkoku.
Glad to know someone on here had watched Burn Up Excess which I view that anime to be underrated. Ok I admit I originally watched it for the bewbs (I was in my teen when I first watched it) but I soon to grown to loved the cast in that show (heavy in debt Rio and the gun obsess Maya etc) and yeah Shirokuma Cafe was an aquired taste since the main comedy revolved on Japanese Kanji puns but that show was so relaxing to watched after I come back from work.VanQ said:Oh boy, there's been plenty of activity in here since I've been away. Certainly, I'm just lamenting the fact. It's my favorite show and all, but the sheer amount of superfluous material that's associated with it is a bit much. It's all such a blatant cash grab that it really bothers me.[Kira Must Die said:]I like to think of Madoka as more of a high class oiran. Couldn't agree more. I read one chapter after the time-skip and gave up. I heard how it ended but I still won't let anything detract from the anime as a stand-alone story; it's too good to ruin.Sunrider said:Holy shit, Usagi Drop! Sooooo good! ;_;
Though let's pretend it all ended with the anime, and what happened after the timeskip in the manga never occured, okay?
Odd to find someone who enjoys a lot of the same anime as me - most share a favourite or two but otherwise like other stuff. Natsume was the last one I included out of a long list of 9th place contenders, but it's one of the longest series I've actually completed (second only to the Monogatari series and only by a couple episodes.) It's light-hearted and silly sometimes but it kept me watching, which is why it ended up winning the last slot.VanQ said:8/9 because I actually haven't seen Natsume yet. 3/9 It's good to see another fan of Gunslinger Girl around. Love that shit. Also, it's spelled "Nichijou". Love that show, too.Adeptus Aspartem said:snip
In return for your prolific attribution of numerical values based on viewingship matches to the lists of others, I shall attribute a numerical value to yours!VanQ said:Spice and Wolf, Mouretsu Uchuu Kaizoku (AKA Bodacious Space Pirates), Accel World

3/9. Plenty of those shows bring back memories for me. I was a really big Naruto fan during highschool. Not so much anymore after all the shit that's happened. I read through all 100 or so chapters of Elfen Lied instead of studying for the AP Physics exam; totally worth it. I remember getting my copy of Welcome to the NHK on DVD when I was studying in London, only to realize that it was region locked; thanks internet for your lovely orange traffic cone. And of Course Hellsing Abridged, nuff said.Caramel Frappe said:snip
