Hey, guys! FPLOON here... So, I had this post in mind about asking about other people's anime collection, whether it is on DVD, Blu-Ray, and/or VHS... I was going to add in HD DVD and/or Betamax, however I don't remember any anime that was released on Betamax and the only anime I can think of that was released on HD DVD was Appleseed Ex Machina... (Edit: Kinda forgot about owning in via digital, but I digress...) Anyway, it took me a while to set this up and still make it discussion-worthy, so let's cut to the chase...

List all of the anime series/movies that you own on DVD, Blu-Ray, and/or VHS... You don't have to list them under a spoiler tag (I guess?), but you do have to list which format the anime is on, of course...

Now, I know how "expensive" anime is to own on DVD, let alone Blu-Ray... (since we're looking at 30 or more bucks, sometimes, on just one volume... with 50 or more bucks on a complete season alone...) So, if you did have enough money to buy any [more] anime, what series/movie would you buy?

Spoiler: For me...

Since I have the original FullMetal Alchemist series on DVD, I would buy all of Brotherhood on Blu-Ray, including its movie... Also, not including re-buying certain series on Blu-Ray this time (or certain series any of my current friends have), I would have bought the complete series of Michiko & Hachin, A Woman Called Fujiko Mine, Blue Gender, Trigun, and anything Tenchi-related that I don't already have already on DVD...

Ooh. Alright, I'll bite. My exact count may be off.

For VHS I have the collected packs of Dragonball Z up to the end of the Frieza saga. I also have most of the Buu saga. I have some tapes of the original Dragonball series, but I don't recall how many. I have at least two of the Dragonball Z movies, 4 and 5 I believe. I also have a copy of Akira, original dub in case anyone cares. I used to have recorded tapes of most of the early Pokemon VHS releases, but I think most of them are gone by now.

For DVDs I have all of the 2003 version of Fullmetal Alchemist, including the Conquerer of Shamballa movie. I also have the full series of Excel Saga and Panty and Stocking. I have the first two of three DVDs of the Devil May Cry animated series. I have the last volume of FLCL, which has the last two episodes. I have the first several arcs of the Funimation One Piece dub, which I think is around six or so volumes. I also have the english dubbed version of One Piece movie that remade the Alabasta arc (I forget which number that was).

Finances aren't an issue, there's just nothing else I want at the moment.

Edit: Oh, I also have the Sonic the Hedgehog OAV lying around somewhere.

I had a HUGE collection that I spent 15 years building. I bought most of the major releases from La Blue girl and cool devices on vhs. Neon Genesis with a special edition metal case. I also had all 5 seasons of the original YuGiOh duel monsters series. I,my,me strawberry egg, Kare Kano,voltron,outlaw star, All the dubbed episodes of Fist of the North star. I bought most of the classics I could get my hands on.

I bought All the patlabor films,demon city Shinjuku,Wicked city,Blue sub 6,akira,kikaider and OVA series.Neon Genesis Rebuild films. All the sotoshi kon films I could get my hands on. The Black lion,Sword for truth,Darkside Blues ( a real favorite). The original Applesead film. I also had the original Urosoukidoji: Legend of the overfiend. Kite: uncut,Ninja Resurrection (another favorite). Doomed Megaopolis, Metropolis, Demon Warrior Koji, Chobits, Mystery of the Necronomicon, Street Fighter: The animated movie,the fatal fury movies, Street Fighter Alpha, tekken: The motion picture.

I bought these titles when they came out over the years. These aren't all the titles I've owned. I have a lot of memories wrapped up into my collection. It's too bad that buying retail isn't what it used to be IMHO. I wanted to keep building my collection. I loved seeing it grow. It's also a shame that companies don't really take advantage of the storage capacity of the Blu-ray. I hated collecting a million dvds for a series.

I don't have all of my anime in one place to really catalog it...I can tell you what I want though if I could find it and indeed, if I had the money for it:

Devil Man (the late 80's/early 90's series because nostalgia)
Final Fantasy: The Anime (the one from the late 80's, early 90's because it existed)
The Complete GTO (Because Great Teacher Onizuka is awesome)

I don't care so much about the format so long as I have the complete collection...I would prefer to have the Japanese Audio versions too...there are more too but these are the main three I want.

I would kill for the original Neon Genesis Evangelion and End of Evangelion on Blu-ray too. Here's hoping...

There's a bunch of stuff I want, but anime DVDs can be quite expensive, so they tend to fall into the "I'll get it when I'm rich" category.

As for stuff that I want... can't say, really. Up until about a year ago my only real exposure to anime was Cowboy Bebop and Black Lagoon. So I've kinda just been working off the recommendations of friends. Of the stuff that I have listed above, really the only one that I didn't really care for was Trigun. I went into it thinking that it was going to be a bit more serious than it actually was, and the humor just didn't work for me.

I've had friends recommend Outlaw Star to me, based on my love of Firefly and Cowboy Bebop. So I dunno, maybe I'll try that next. I'm kind of a long-time TV/movie buff... so I'm trying my best to be open-minded to a whole style of entertainment that's more or less brand new to me.
