For years, a man/women has been tormenting you in different ways. Kicking you in the shins, making fun of your purple underpants, stealing your girlfriend/boyfriend, ect.

Anyway, one day he/she comes to your home...and you don't need to grab the shotgun.

He/she wants to apologize for all the things he/she has done to you.

would you forgive this person?

EDIT: FUUUUUUUUUUUUU- I didn't add a poll!

I would make a show of forgiving the person, but I wouldn't actually forgive them. Instead I'd slowly cut contact and ties with them until they are little more than a stranger and a collection of bad memories. And before long I would simply forget about the person.

forgive them, i don't see the point in holding a grudge and i am a very forgiving person (though that might one day be my undoing)

Then me and my nemesis can ride off into the sunset together and start a new life together.

I can't imagine having a nemesis, so I don't really know what I'd do...

I expect I'd forgive them though, since I've never carried a grudge for more than a few hours.

Forgive and forget. No point in keeping contact with said person, may as well move on without a nagging grudge.

If Stephenie Meyer came to my house, I would punch her in her fucking jaw.

No fucking way I'm gonna let you get away with your awful actions, you literary repugnant *****!

Dieee!

... Now that I think about it, if I got some of that cash she's making I might not kill her at least.

I'd let them in, and then While we are discussing our faults I shall not answer the question as to why their tea tastes vaguely of rat poison.

I guess I would forgive him. I still wouldn't want to have anything to do with him, but I'd be happy that he sees and accepts his wrongdoings.

This reminds me of the first episode of My name is Earl, so I would ask him if he's doing it because of Karma.

I would forgive them, hug them, cry with them if they needed to, and generally support them from then on.

As long as they actually commit to changing their ways. If not though, I'd still forgive them.

Been there, done that.

Well, not exactly, but I had an enemy when I was younger. He would kick me in my tiny tender balls and act like a general douchebag to me. He was also a year older, so he was scary.
A few years ago, when I still played WoW, he messaged me (we have a mutual friend) and apologized for the way he had acted when we were younger. He was sincere in his apology and we're pretty good friends now.

I don't see the point in holding grudges.

Carl the llama?

OT: I would even the score (last person to be victimized punches the offender) and then forgive him.

On second thought, invite them in for tea.

Hate/Love is awfully close to eachother aint they? I'd probably try to make the person a friend. If said person has been tormenting me for years that is the ONLY outcome i can see.

I wouldn't forgive, I can't forgive someone who's bullied me etc. pretty much all my life.

I'd just tell them to sod off.
