This is the first thing that ever made me blatantly laugh at a comic book. It might have been the timing, my mood at the time, I don't know, but when I saw Shadow make the "serious face" I just couldn't stop laughing. As a result I decided to scan the page and make the face my avatar.

Read V for Vendetta, found a Guy Fawkes mask sitting around a novelty shop. I took a picture, edited it by gray tones, then darkened it. I then painted up the absolutely white mask and made it red.

Honestly, it's been one of my favorite pictures, because there's a lot to do with it.

My avatar is Pennywise from the movie IT. I picked it because I like it and it freaks a lot of people out so that's a nice bonus.

It's because of Pennywise and Killer Klowns from Outer Space why I am looking forward to L4D2. Props to your av!
OT: Bert and Ernie were and still are my favorite characters from Sesame Street. When I came across this pic, it struck me that Bert's eyes were a little too dilated, like he either had taken a toke to forget something Ernie had done recently, or he was getting too overstressed because of something Ernie had done recently. I find the humor in it in many levels. And appreciate it for the friendship that will always last, regardless of whatever hijinks may ensue.

As for my avatar, it's the Guardian Angel, and I just thought the effect used on her transmission in the game looked cool, unfortunately it didn't translate well into an avatar image on the Escapist.
