Mine came today when I found ALL OF THIS For 30 Bucks! Seems like about 3 episodes per VHS. Got them for a buck a piece (though the one boxed set was cheaper then that). It was my child hood...on a shelf! Takes me back to where after watching Toonami all afternoon me, my brother, and my cousin would go outside and make terrible decisions on a trampoline trying to be like Goku.

So tell me, oh fellow escapists, what was your best day at a thrift store, garage sale, ebay, or like purchasing opportunity?

Edited: fixed a typo.

I found an extendable buttscratcher for a couple bucks... could go from like 2 feet long to about 30 feet long... though it was actually a golf ball retriever... still worked as a buttscratcher... Also got a speed racer helmet for a couple bucks and a book titled "how to prevent you child from being gay" for a couple bucks in the same day... that book was worth a few laughs... and my buddy still has the speed racer helmet in his car which he'll throw on occasionally or when he pulls up to cops...

Found a good-as-new tophat at a thrift store for 20 dollars and a matching monocle at a pawn shop though it cost 100$ as it was real metal around the rim and was from some locally famous man back in the 60's.

3 piece, hand-tailored Italian wool suit, $15, and my girlfriend let the pants back out from a 32" waist to a 34" waist.

When I was a kid, I got a 4ft barbie doll from the neighborhood 'mission'. It was the cooliest thing ever. It had curse words written on it in sharpie, and musty, yellowed hair. Dunno how we got the sharpie off, but I loved that thing.

I got Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on PS3 for £1.99 at Oxfam. They rarely have any gems there, but I always go have a look to see.

I dont think its really the same but...

at a second hand store they obviously have tons and tons of old books

I was able to get the books of the series I was reading rather cheaply (even though there were more recent editions)

I hear the last book is finally out..I should get it somtime

Picked up an N64 with 2 controllers and Mario 64 for only $5. I thought it was a nice find. And even though the N64 is bricked, I'll eventually find an N64 that works to go with the functioning game and controllers (tested on my friends console).

A pair of Ben Sherman ties for $9 a piece. One of them has become my absolute favorite tie.

A book on how to speak cat. For 25 cents.

So worth it.
May I borrow it?
I may finally learn why my cat has to stamped across the upstairs of my house periodically throughout the day.

OT: I found a fully functional Donkey Kong machine at the local Salvation Army Megastore for about $300.

A good find, but I didn't have the money, and I'm sure my mom would never go for it.
