Your Best Friend... In Real Life!

This was inspired by the "Best Friends (with a Video Game Character) Thread". Tell everyone at the Escapist about YOUR best friend! What makes them so special, so great, so best friend like?

My best friend and I have so many inside jokes, and so many things in common, we just clicked. We've been friends for years, and have memories ranging from fights over boys to choking on noodles and even crazier shit. She's the only one I know (And like) who also enjoys the stranger things that I like, and all in the same combination, too! We show each other new things, and have the same sense of humor. We're pretty alike, but she's no more me than her, and vice versa. Unfortunately, she recently moved across the country, but we still keep in touch, and plan to visit each other as often as we can.

A new twist for more discussion value: If you don't currently have a best friend, make one up! Or, if you have a best friend, is there something you would like to change about them?

I got it! My best friend plays/knows a lot about video games, and is someone to talk to at school. He is someone who ends up giving me a lot of entertainment, and makes me laugh. He isn't real

My best friend (and brother) is a member on here also. DC.Justinian (AKA Luke). We've known each other, and been best friends, for 14 years (since we were 3). I couldn't think of anyone I would rather have as a best friend. No matter what I know he has my back, and I have his.

There isn't anything I would change about him.

my best friend i am going to with the person i trust most. her name is Jules. she is freaking awesome! also she is up for getting drunk anytime unless she is with her grandparents and i don't blame her. her grandparents makes the BEST FOOD EVER! i also met her the first week of grade nine.

My best friend ive know for about 7-8 years, we share the exact same sense of humour and he got me inot music which has got me so far as to get a diploma and be gonig for a degree.

At one point we could communicate through facial expressions and we're in every sense brothers from another mother.

Also he got me to buy my xbox thus resfuelling my gaming addiction, it's my goal to beat him at Halo he had the advantage from his years of playing FPS's but ive caught up quicky and we seem to constantly tie now.

I honestly couldn't ask for a better friend.

My friends are always changing, so it's kind of difficult for me to have a best friend. The closest thing I have to a best friend though is a another boy who also loves video games. Although he isn't as big an anime fan as me he still watches it quite a bit, although he sticks to anime that's a bit more... immature. And he is pretty immature, to be honest, but I don't think that's bad at all, it makes conversations a lot more refreshing and original. And oh yes, he's on a quest to obtain every video game console ever. Unfortunately we have no classes together this year

My best friend was Shawn, our mothers were close and we were introduced at a very young age and stuck together for quite a while. He was a bit troubled, as in temper and drugs and such, but I aparently had a good influence on him and his brother who had the same problems, in fact I was close with the entire family. Turns out that my own family pretty much hated him after a while and that didnt help things when he moved right down the street in a happy incident.

I dont want to bore you with the details but we had a major falling out and even though my family still hates him I have forgiven him a while ago, I sitll haven even gotten around to deleting his records from my X-box. But unfortunately he and his family moved out of state three years ago when their house burned down and I havent hear from any of them since.

So I guess I dont really have one right now, so it would pretty much be like him...

Quiet a few, actually. I once had an instructor tell me you can, if you're lucky count your good friends on one hand. I'm lucky enough to have round about 6-7 now, core friends. There are others, who while I consider myself friends with, we don't really do that much together, save for the occasional movie or party.

I don't really have a best friend. I've got like 3 core groups of friends that I do almost everything with, but definitely not just one.

I'm the same, since I didn't know anyone when I went to high school and the one best friend I DID have got mad at me for some nonsensical bullshit. But my group number has been upped to five since I recently left for university. Although I think I have made a new best friend, we've been doing everything together so far.

I just wished I had more geeky friends...

Second best is named Kelsey. Despite us not talking very much, we've always gotten along really well and always have fun whenever we do talk.

Not related to me: My best friend is my X wife. What makes her my best friend we shared 14 yrs together and have 2 kids to take care of. We were able to decide that we were better friends than mates.

Related to me: My brother is my best friend we share the same sense of humor. Sometimes mine leans more to the darker side & his to the lighter but still the core is still the same. He is the one that I play all my games with & watch Robot Chicken with.

Edit: My brother is also the one that brought me to the escapist we watch Zero Punctuation together.

My eldest cat. I've had him 11 years and he's great. Sure he likes to wake me up at 6 am by meowing loudly in my face, and he sits on my laptop when I'm paying more attention to the computer than to him, but he's the cutest, most affectionate thing ever.

I'm moving soon though, and I can't take him with me. I'm probably going to die -- I've had him around half my life!

*sigh* Well, best friend would be someone here. I can't think of an absolute best friend though.
