Your Best Friend... In Real Life!

I've got a few. One is my cousin who has all the same gaming tastes and internet jokes that can be made. Very often will you find us snickering and trading remarks while everyone else sits baffled.
My other one is a kid from Brazil who moved here last year. He plays guitar, I play drums. I remember things for him, correct his english, he corrects mine. We've got a system worked out. Make absurd bets and try to come up with the weirdest answers in Japanese class. For example, we needed to write sentences using adjectives we just learned. We came up with, "The Batman is strong, while the pope is weak and a bad driver."
Oh the fun times.

My best friend is named John Edwerd Shields VI. Hes a Metal Head like I and is the only person i trust. He is the only person who actually knows me for who i really am and not the mask which i put up for the rest of the world. Hes the only person who keeps me sane and im one of the only people who he considers a friend. i am his best guy friend (his girlfriend is his life) and though he is not some manly tough guy but just some weakling hes my best friend and i could not keep my sanity with out him.

I don't really have a 'best' friend anymore. The person I used to call my best friend is 20 years old, still lives with his mother and is afraid to move out even though I've offered to let him stay at my place and he hates his house. Even at 20 years old he has no car or ID, and he gets grounded by someone who isn't even his dad or step dad for weeks because of fucking stupid reasons (a week grounding for going to my house for a few hours). He pretty much sucks at video games, he doesn't watch anime, and his music taste is somewhat close to mine (he likes deathcore... bleh) and he is skinny as a twig. The only thing we have in common anymore is taste in movies, but thats about it. The only reason he's not my 'best' friend anymore is because he wont stand up for himself and move out of the hell hole house he lives in and is never able to leave to hang out.

I don't really have a best friend. I've got like 3 core groups of friends that I do almost everything with, but definitely not just one.

I'm the same, since I didn't know anyone when I went to high school and the one best friend I DID have got mad at me for some nonsensical bullshit. But my group number has been upped to five since I recently left for university. Although I think I have made a new best friend, we've been doing everything together so far.

I just wished I had more geeky friends...

Whoa, same happened here. Nonsensical bullshit being dropping all contact and just disappearing, right?

Thankfully though, pretty much all my friends could be described as geeky. Oh how I love them so.

Hmm, He's a dick, He's a total asshole, he will consistently rip apart my love life for his own amusement, he laughed when I got mugged, he laughed when I got punched by a drunk (and then took out his frustrations by beating the shit out of the drunk) He high fived me when I beat some kid's ass who stole my bag... Pretty much, he spends the entire time being a terrible mean spirited person. Who totally thinks he's SUUUCH a good person, He's a whore, and pretty much had an entire town of people hate him because he fucked around with every girl there, and I think he's a compulsive liar, because he's always talking about having a shiv/fucking thousands of girls.

why is he my friend? Because under it all, he cares, we talked one day, and he said he was sorry for being such a dick, but he thinks I need it to get thru the world, I need someone who despite how he acts, does like me as a person, and when I need him, he talks me thru my life, and when I am bored, we shoot shit(Mostly each other) In video games, oh, and he totally sucks at Nazi zombies, so yeah... I get to yell at him about that.

It's really hard to say what makes him a good friend, he's the kind of guy you have to KNOW to like him.

I don't have a best friend, partially because I'm rather misanthropic and I'd rather stay at home and play some X-box then go to some stupid party and have to listen to some vapid ***** talk about how drunk she is after half a drink.

The closest I have is a guy I met in the tenth grade, we look rather comical together, he's really skinny and has long shaggy hair while I'm pretty fat and have short hair and kick ass sideburns. Unfortunately our interests are only really the same in that we like to go on /b/. He's a good guy and if I need him he is there so at least I got someone...
