As of where I sit in Pearl right now:

L100 Torterra: Earthquake, Crunch, Giga Drain, Razor Leaf
L86 Absol: Psycho Cut, Night Slash, Slash, Quick Attack
L47 Pidgeot: Quick Attack, Fly, Roost, Wing Attack
L48 Dragonair: Aqua Tail, Surf, Slam, Dragon Rush
L25 Flaafy: Tackle, Charge, Thundershock, Thunder Wave
L69 Infernape: Fury Swipes, Mach Punch, Flare Blitz, Flame Wheel

As you can see, it is a work in progress. I plan on them all hitting L100. Dragonair will not evolve into Dragonite (for personal reasons [I don't want a retarded pokemon]) but Flaafy will evolve into an Ampharos. I am still checking into a fire pokemon to replace Infernape (He really just doesn't do it for me) and I may switch him out with my Charizard but am, as of now, unsure as to which moves to teach it.

Any critiques welcome.

Note: all of these pokemon were gotten legitimately either by catching them, migrating them, or catching a real deal on the Global Trade Network. In fact, of the 384/493 I own, only Jirachi and Dialga aren't legit, in my opinion. Jirachi was gotten via Action Replay and Dialga was traded to me from my buddy. (I suppose you could coun't Manaphy as not being legit. I played all of Pokemon Ranger in order to get him but my buddy had already gotten him. I didn't realize that there was only one per pack.)

There have been a lot of these lately...Let me think. My original party consisted of:

1)Venasaur (Body Slam, Razor Leaf, Solar Beam, Cut)
2)Zapdos (Thunderbolt, Thunder, Flash, Fly)
3)Gengar (Metronome, Hypnosis, Dream Eater, Thunderbolt)
4)Ninetails (Flamethrower, Confuse Ray, Fire Blast, Fire Spin)
5)Mewtwo (Pay Day, Psycic, Recover, Substitute)
6) Golduck (Body Slam, Surf, Strength, Confusion)

Ok, Gold version, I had...

1) ...whatever the third form of Chikorita is called (Razor Leaf, Solar Beam, Sweet Scent, Cut)
2) Misdreavus (Mean Look, Confuse Ray, Psychic, can't remember the other)
3) Ho-Oh (Sacred Fire, Fire Blast, Fly, can't remember the other move)
4)Espion (Bite, Psychic...can't remember the others)
5) Tyranitar

And the other I tended to rotate, but I know I make level 100's for them. All my original parties had maxed out levels.
Screw it, I'll check my games later if I can remember.

I was heavily involved in the metagame, rather than just in-game and the occasional friend battles. As such, my team did not remain static, and has changed since to accommodate Platinum and tier changes. However, my best and favorite team was the following:

Smeargle- (status support)
Tyranitar (weather support and late-game physical sweeper)
Cradily (special wall)
Starmie (revenge killer, special sweeper, anti-metagame)
Gliscor/Celebi (physical wall, I switched them around)
Jirachi (healing and stealth rock support)

I never have the same 6 anytime I start over the same or a new version, that way I don't feel like I'm playing the same game over and over again.

That's a tough one. I usually think in terms of Battle Tower. I like my teams to be nice and compact. Bleh, I'll just toss out six favorites.

Gengar
Lickilicky
Tangrowth
Vaporeon
Yanmega
Medicham

Most effective team:
Wheezing
Rapidash
Krabby!
Mewtwo
Gengar
Raticate

And lets be frank here, can anyone honestly remember a time when they actually kept the horribly retarded starting pokemon from one of the new games? I honestly switched mine out as soon as I had seven pokemon =P

I can only be arsed to draw from the original 150, as I havn't played past that.

1. Charmander (not evolved, not very smart but evolve him and he looses his charm (quite literally!))
2.Ninetails
3.Growlithe
4.Scyther
5.Snorlax
6.Blastoise

My team is wholly impracticle, but its full of the pokemanz that I love, so fuck it!

Charizard (Rednamrok)
Haunter (Himuro)
Marowak (Boney M)
Lapras (Nessie)
Zapdos (Zeus)
Beedrill (Willo Wasp)

Yes I would make names for them, have been doing that lately when I play them all again. This was the team I won with in Pokemon Red/Blue as far as I remember.
