Your Best Sniper Kill.

I don't remember any good sniper stories, however I do remember my worst.

It was Battle Field 2 (Not Bad Company) and it was me and one other person on the server. He was in a helicopter and controlled almost all the spawn points, so I tried to lure him over to one spawn by capturing then running away to a oil derrick. I tried to kill him with C4, didn't work more then once, so I spent the rest of the game trying to snipe him through the window of his helicopter, but what I didn't know was that my rifle didn't have the stopping power to break through the glass of a helicopter cockpit, so it lead to a rather uneventful hour and a half of me hating DICE for adding such inaccurate sniper rifles to a game, but now I just hate them for making only one sniper rifle good against helicopters. Thanks DICE.

I managed to implant a few rounds in a Witch's skull in L4D2. My friend was pretty baffled that I managed to kill her without her going insane like she usually does. Also, managed to catch a leaping Hunter one time in Dark Carnival.

Hmm... maybe that's why Hunters hate my guts so much...

in Battlefield: Bad Company 1, i was on the very tippy top of the crane in that really foggy map and some jabroni was driving a humvee towards our base.

i took one shot at him and my bullet smashed through his windshield and into his face. it also caused the vehicle to explode, somehow lol

Long Range: In Battlefield I got a perfect cross map kill in one shot. All I could see was him going behind a fence, I guessed at the bullet drop and time and got a clean head shot. That man was probably pissed.

Short Range: In CoD4 I was jumping for one reason or another and saw a person in front of me. I quick scoped and got very lucky and hit him.....and the guy behind him. I wish I recorded that....

On Warhawk, against a jetpacking enemy who was at least 2500ft away (I got the trophy for it). Could barely even see the guy and he was moving around in all directions, making it just that much harder to hit him. Took all 7 shots from the weapon but I finally nailed him on the last one.

Dunno if this counts, as it has more to do with the game engine, but aiming (with a sniper) at a guy in a turret on the other side of the map, swiching to pistol, and taking him out. Turns out he was the last guy alive...

Best on COD was on COD4, killed 2 6 People at one, although 4 of those was a grenade

Picking off bandits on S.T.AL.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat 4000Km away with the enhanced scope. It's a pain because I have to max out the draw distance but it's impossible to get hit back on maximum range

Real life snipers shoot and move. Thats why you respawn and insta-kill them in game.

Was doing an AWP map, and I suck at AWPs. Randomly walled a guy while totally missing the guy I was aiming at. My favorite.

Of course I've gotten the double kills with 1 shot, gotten 6 kills in a span of 8 seconds with an EBR, etc.

I beg to differ. There are many players out there that play FPSs in a more run-and-gun kind of way, but instead of a machine gun they use the sniper rifle. To give an extreme example, look up Grizz on youtube.

Team Fortress 2: I made 2 kills within a couple of seconds by using the Sniper's taunt kill (which takes a couple of seconds to "charge") on two unsuspecting Heavy's

I did the same, but with the Heavy tauntkill...

@PoisonUnagi I wouldn't call it hard to tauntkill from some corner as a sniper on the correct places really, I do that all the time, not hard.

Heavy however is harder, if you miss, everyone hears you, if you hit, your timing is awesome and you are lucky as hell.

Anyways, my best sniper headshot I can think of was when a scout was in the middle of my face and I tried to shoot him, then accidentally shot a medic (with ubercharge O_O) in the head, I was like "WTF?" then died. It felt epic. (The reason I knew it was a uber medic was because I got the achievement.)

Got a headshot through the gap of the roof of 2Fort's roof on Team Fortress 2 once. On a Soldier, I think.
... Shut up, I don't snipe much, okay? I've got a friend who's epic at sniping, I leave it to him while I jump around and draw attention.

Have a story to distract from my disgrace of snipers.
Best sniper kill I've personally seen was done by a friend on Left 4 Dead 2. Different friend, not the epic sniping one.
Not sure if it was a glitch, lag issue or maybe both, but he got a headshot on a Boomer and it didn't blow up. Even though it was a finale, we took the time to just shoot the body over and over again. Because c'mon, how often do you get to shoot intact Boomers repeatedly?
That's right, never.

Individual Kills? Those are always the two kill one bullet moments. I had one in CoD4 and a couple in MW2

Best Sniper moment? Racking up a fifteen kill streak in MW2 only sniping and immediately after the match getting hate e-mail from one of the guys who kept running into my field of fire over and over, while a second referred to me as a "***** ass sniper" between rounds. That much hate just means I'm doing my job right.

As for Sniper Playstyles I always felt there were two viable ways to do it in FPS.

1. Find a defensible sniper nest, fortify your position, and be prepared to fight off all comers after they clue into where you are. It's not easy, but if you can capture an enemy weapon off of the first person who comes in after you, you'd be surprised how well you can hold up if you're wily enough.

2. Closer to a traditional sniper, stick and move. Find a position, get a kill, maybe two if you're feeling lucky, and move on to a new position before they come to root you out. This requires a better knowledge of individual maps because it helps to know all the good sniping spots. But it comes in handy in games like Black Ops if you don't want to use a suppressor and have to double tap everyone to get a sniper kill.

fuck using sniper rifles, shotgun sniping is where it's at, as B. Company 2 homies can attest.
Slugs+headshot SKILL as opposed to random 2 lined up and hit torso.

Slugs travel faster than sniper bullets too and have no bullet drop, which is weird, making it easier to take out UAVs.

Any time you make a headshot with the laser rifle in Tribes 1 or II when they are in the air and you are moving. I've done it...once.
