Do you get along with them? Care to explain why or why not?

My gf's dad despises me, although he has recently taken to calling me "Your boyfriend" when he's talking to her instead of "That creep" or something of that effect. Her mom loves me and thinks I'm wonderful, but she's the nicest person I've ever met. Her step-mom thinks I'm OK and is warming up to me. I think her dad hates me because we met online and I'm a little older than her. Her mom loves me because I treat her well and respect her. Her step-mom is warming up to me for similar reasons I think.

EDIT: Oh yeah, did I mention that her parents didn't know about me until a few months into our relationship, that we met online, and that another girl we both knew online told her that I did things with her on webcam? I didn't, but she said I did. Jealous *****. >.> Anyway, yeah, surprisingly, I think her dad is starting to come around.

They both love me, and I think they're pretty cool. I'm kind of awkward around her father, but her mother is easy to have a conversation with. I guess they're just happy that she's not dating a perverted dick for once, so they immediately liked me.

My gf's parents are fantastic. We get along fantastic.
I had a pretty shitty childhood with an abusive mom and a dad who was never around, and they are very understanding of that and treat me as their own child (At least as much as they can consider two 22 year olds children).

My boyfriend's parents like me, but I don't really get to see them a lot because he lives about an hour and 45 minutes away from where I live. :(

My first girlfriend's parents loved me. My secod girlfriend's dad thought I was cool, but I never really saw her mother that much (her mother was a nurse and worked wierd shifts).

Currently, I'm single, and therefore don't have the problem of "oh no, will her parents like me" (which incidentally is the ONLY good thing about being single).

My girlfriend's dad is a raging alcoholic whose mind is slipping and her parents are divorced. I've only met him once, and there was a mutual dislike, albeit for different reasons. On the other hand, her mom absolutely loves me and thinks I'm the best boyfriend her daughter has ever had.

My fiancee's parents like me I think, all the female members of her family think I'm the best thing since sliced bread. Her uncle likes me and I'm told that's a good thing because he's hated the boyfriends of other women in the family.

"Oooh, he's so well spoken."
"He's so polite."
"He's so intelligent."
"He's such a charismatic stallion."

[sub]I may have made that last one up...[/sub]

My ex's mom seemed to like me just fine. And her dad was alright with me at first. But after a year or two, he started to get overly controlling of her, and made it nearly impossible to take her out on dates when we were home over the summer. Plus, I'm pretty sure he was pushing her to leave me near the end.
So for all I care, he can burn in a syphilitic inferno.

My gf's parents are hugely overprotective, so i opt to stay away from them.
Though, the times Ive met them, they haven't minded me all that much, only a little bit of hostility to me, as I "Corrupted their daughter"
They are nice people, and we got along fine before i started dating their daughter, so i guess thats okay?

My GF's parents absolutely love me, mostly due to her dad being a retired air force officer and I was in my schools AFJROTC program (for those who don't know it's a class in high school and it teaches you a lot of military aspects of live and military manners, and there wasn't any obligation to join the military after the class the only thing we really had to do was wear a uniform once a week) and I also made a great move by wearing my air force sweatshirt when I first met him and he instantly took a liking to me.

My Girlfriends folks think I'm a racist. It's like the old joke goes, you build a hundred bridges, you're a great bridge builder. You build a hundred boats, you're a great boat builder. But you tell one slightly racist joke at a 4th of July barbecue...

I love my gf's parents. I'm a bit intimidated by the father, because he is an incredible surgeon in a very specific field. However, they're both wonderful.
They started off thinking I was a bit "boring," wondering why she left her previous boyfriend, and being wary because we met online and possibly because I'm a bit older (an issue you and I have in common). However, they got to know me, realized I had a sense of humor, enjoyed fun things, that we have something that she and her ex did not, and that I'm not particularly creepy. It just took time. Figuring out their interests and trying to share in them seemed to help as well (e.g. talk to the dad about medicine, a field I am also in, and he'll light up and enjoy sharing his knowledge)

You're a slightly racist joke teller?

I've never really had the "my girlfriend's parents hate me!" mostly because I'm insanely likable.

My partner's dad just got out of prison and is completely estranged from her. Her mother died from liver failure caused by alcoholism.

I never met either of them. In the case of the one surviving one I hope I never have to.

Her mother adores me. I've never actually met the father. He lives in Florida.

It's strange though, I feel like her mom actually dislikes me. She's never given me a reason to think that, but I just have that feeling. Like she's just lying and telling me she likes me to make her daughter happy.

Or maybe I'm just stupid.

I've always been cool with my girlfriend's parents because, like many of the people here, I know how to be polite, courteous, and am intelligent enough to carry on (most) conversations. But it was especially easy to get along with their dads, since I'm an athlete and keep up with most major sports. I even got to call my last girlfriend's dad by his first name.

We got off to a bit of a rocky start, at first they weren't comfortable with the idea of their daughter dating another girl (even though I'm not her first). But that got better, and now they think I'm awesome. I spent christmas at their lakehouse with basically her whole family. It was great.

I had a friend in highschool that I asked out. I was good friends with her even after she said no, but I always had this feeling that her sister didn't like me. Even though my friend assured me that her sister liked me, I wasn't convinced. Anyway, one day my friend and I were just chilling on the couch after doing some work for her mom and her sister comes in and says, "Dude, you know I like you, right?"

Apparently it was something of a joke in their family about my concern about it because both her parents love me and she and I are really close, but I don't know the sister that well. Her mom told her sister to tell me that she liked me I think.

I don't think you're stupid, I think that something like that is normal. Now, if you think that with everyone, then you're just paranoid. XD
