Beating Raining Blood on expert in Guitar Hero III. That took me about 15-20 tries before I actually beat it.

I'm playing that right now, and had to take a break for the same reason. I'm hating it right now.

Just let them die. They really are just to stupid to live.

The most challengeing, more like enduring, thing I've played is the last level of Serious Sam 2. My thumb was sore afterwards.

I have a couple, though it depends wether it was skill based or just figuring out how.

Mario 64 -100 coins in the Tick-Tock Clock (sooo much time and effort per attempt).
Warcraft: Orcs and Humans - Orc last level, still havent done it.

And i believe that anyone who has passed the UT2004 single player campaign on godlike deserves an actual medal.

Twilight Princess- It took me ages to figure out that u had to roll at the pillar to get the key chest in the first dungeon.

What mission was that? The sniper mission?

I, personally, thought "Heat," the one where you go up the hill to the LZ, but have to go down the hill again because that LZ is too hot, was the hardest.
I thought the No fighting in the war room level was the hardest, well on VET anyway.

My biggest hurdle was a part in LoZ: Oracle of seasons on the GBC. You had to rapidly hit B to make the chicken fly from cliff to cliff. It was as hard as hell and by the time I did it my thumb hurt like hell.

Pretty much the last movie on Stuntman. Not Ignition, the first one.

Some of the ones in the new one had me pulling out my hair. Trail and error, and then when you get it perfectly... you hot lava, or go off the edge, or something pops up to ruin your day.

The biggest one in recent memory, other than that filthy orange button on the Guitar Hero controller, is the last boss in Conan.

The rest of the game is a good average difficulty, but the last boss bends you over the sofa and does intrusive things to you with his many tentacles.

I died as many times on the last boss as the entire game up to that point. (still, fun game)

In Baten Kaitos Origins, when you fight (insert name of massive spoiler boss here) at the end of Disc 1. Toughest RPG boss I've ever had to face, and this includes the 3 Anti Guy optional boss fight in Paper Mario.

Fighting the two of the sisters of fate in God of war 2 since you have to fight them at the same time....Then there is the fight with Zeus it was really only hard because I forgot to save and could not simply turn off the ps3 and take a break.

The amount of time it took me to find out to copy a map on Zelda:phantom hourglass you need to close your DS.

Doing this http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/7720/carthagovictaeg8.jpg

... in 11 turns with my starting general in Sicily without any reinforcements, just on-the-spot merc recruits. The general reached his 60's or 70's (can't remember, but probably the former) and died in the last battle. The best campaign start ever.

The second level of The Lion King for the Mega Drive. I hated that goddamn ostrich. The only level I've never finished, simply because the game *refused* to accept that I could ever pass the second jump/duck/double-jump/etc section.

From the top of my mind.
Contra 4 - Challenge Modes.
The last 10 missions in the challange modes took me about an hour EACH to beat.

Some of the challanges include:

* Limited Ammo (20 shots for the entire map, and yes some maps with bosses incl.)
* Free Hostages (Probably 20 of them on the map, you shoot one - Game Over)
* *NO* Ammo (you heard me!)

Contra 4 is already as hard as it is, but playing the challange modes is just plain rediculously hard - and I'm concidered a hardcore shooter-gamer.

Also - Guitar Hero 3 on Expert mode.
The difficulty curve of that game is entirely F'd.
The songs where easy for me in Hard-mode, I could get like 99% on most songs on Hard mode.
On Expert Mode, I can't even get past the intro on most of the songs.

Getting through the underground in HL2:Ep 1 because it was boring as hell, not scary and difficult due to annoyance and not because anything you had to do or kill was hard. I'd have to say getting to the end of Ep 1 was a struggle in and of itself and not just the beginning. Putting cars on the stupid antlion holes over and over again was boring and annoying, those stupid zombine randomly popping up to blow you away with a suicide rush was annoying, and the stupid last part (which I just stopped playing because it was making me hate Valve more) where you had to take people through the warehouse was completely unnecessary.

That level in the first Halo where you replay the same identical floor with the same identical enemies (and it's the Flood, too, which is even more annoying) over and over and over and over. It was difficult but not outrageously so, especially in co-op, but it was tedious and boring and just wouldn't end.

That was the whole game.
