whever things go pear shaped in XCOM due to a solder fucking up a shot, THAT WAS 80%!!??, YOU TELLING ME YOU CAN'T HIT 80% YOU USELESS MASS OF PIXELS!!??
Well, they can't 20% of the time. :D

OT: Well, beating Seth with Sakura in Street Fighter 4 took me about 50 tries, three ragequits and two keyboard smashes (inb4 "lolkeyboardgetgudnoob").

My most epic ragequit was probably from Civ V, though. My friend basically trolled me for the whole game, and was on the verge of capturing all my workers. I suicided them all and left, leaving him with tantalizing workable areas that he was too busy warring with other factions to make workers for.

I'm not proud.

EDIT: Can't leave without mentioning Uplink: Hacker Elite! WHY PERMADEATH WHY

I'm not sure if I could call it a rage quit, but...
The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker.

There were things I really liked about the game (the art style and the sailing), but the lacklustre dungeons, pitifully easy combat and endless fetch quests grated on my patience.

At the end of the game, you need to get the triforce. Cool, another fetch quest.
But wait! It's in 8 pieces. Well fine then.
But you need to get the maps to them! Ugh, fine.
But you can't read the maps! You need to take them to Tingle! But I HATE Tingle.
But you have to pay them! For the love of god fine, I'll do it.

So I collected all the rupees I could find, and sold all my extra stuff. I scrounged enough together, and collected seven of them. When I went to get the last one, I found that you needed Joy Pendants (which I had sold) to get into the area where it was hidden.

I put down my controller, said to myself "I'm done", and haven't played it since.

What were your biggest rage quit moments?
Also dark souls.

I was in the upper undead burg just taking a shortcut when I found myself getting invaded. No problem, we squared off and just as combat was about to begin, I fell through the floor and just kept falling forever into a grey void.

I quit and reloaded to find that all my stats (except endurance I think) had been reset. It still showed my level at 93 but all my strength, agility, etc was back at its default. Dozens of hours were ruined. Never found out if it was some kind of hack by my invader or random bug in the game.

The thing that really pissed me off was when I took my questions to the Steam forums, people seemed to think it was my own fault for not taking the time to periodically create backups of all my characters in a whole other location just for this exact situation. Seriously Daggerfall was the last game that I needed to do that for!

Lollipop Chainsaw... The No Fear Of Heights Trocheivement...

So far, that situation, alone, has been THE pinnacle of all my rage quits... The amount of luck you would need to obtain that particular trophy was so BS that it has been over a year since I have touched that particular game...

And I was having so much fun back then... and, at the time, I was one trophy away from platinuming it...

Almost a complete waste of time at this point...
He he, I actually got that one...it took me 84 attempt which totally wrecked my end of level score. The trophy that I cannot get is the one where you have to chop 7 heads off in Sparkle mode or whatever its called. Every single time, I enter the area full of zombies active Sparkle mode, here we go...6!!!! What the actual fuck game?!? Ok, big group over there annnnnnnnd...6!!!! Fuuuuuuuuuuck yoooooou!!!
Huh... It only took me a couple of [actual] tries to get that particular trochievement... Who knew lowering my defense long enough for a good set of zombies to be in Sparkle mode range would pay off in that farm-based ambush??

But seriously, that's basically what I did and I ended up with a 8-head combo! Sure, it still counted, but then again once the icon popped up afterwards, I was like "Glad I don't have to do that again... So what's next?"

This thread is perfectly timed, since I just rage quit Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Regular enemy mobs massacre me despite me boosting around the place like a mofo. I try to get in close, but I get hit with endless combos and laser spam that you can only break by blocking, which isn't as useful as it sounds. The burst slash was the shit in the first game, but it's borderline useless here because the controls to execute it in close-quarters-combat aren't nearly as tight as they used to be. The only solution I've found is to spam gauntlet like a cheapass, which works only until I run out of ammo/magical Jehuty energy. Also, before I forget, fuck the camera and lock-on system. Maybe I just suck, I'm normally good-great with these kind of games, but I can't get a good feel for this game.

That felt good to get off my chest.

Personally, I get really into games. Several friends have commented on my tendency to yell at the most peaceful of games like Civilization V or Hearthstone. These are my three most frequent ones:

When I dash a soldier one or two tiles too far in XCOM, aggro'ing a bunch of Chrysalids.

Working up a nice K/D ratio in Battlefield 4 just to have a stinger annihilate your helicopter.

Most of the encounters in Outlast.
