One of the more emotional times in life is breaking up with your significant other. Like all emotional times, it seems to go better to music.

Mine were these:

What were yours? Did they carry you through, or just make you wallow?

Edit: These were back from my last relationship. I'm still in a good place with my current GF, it's just something my friends and I (including my GF) were discussing over a BBQ on the weekend... I thought about bringing it here... Sorry to my friends if I worried you!

Edit 2: Please use the spoiler tag to save on space... Like this {spioler=my spoiler} {content} {/spoiler} only, use these []. Thanks.

If I was the head of a country wallowing would be the national sport...

"If you're having girl problems, I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems but a ***** ain't one"

... What? I'm more of a "scorched earth" kinda guy than a wallower ;)

Ben Folds' version of Bitches Ain't Shit.

It's not exactly mature [or indicative of my views on the titular Bitches], but it works. The heartbroken friends I have prescribed it to will attest to this.

Also:

I listen to a lot of intensely heavy music when I'm going through that unpleasant process, but I will not post examples because they are embarrassing.

For me, this song encapsulated my previous breakup. Good to be free again, and it was certainly peaceful, but there was always a certain encroaching loneliness. Both of which are expressed through the general tone of the song.

Maybe by the Ink Spots if the relationship was good, I Feel Fantastic by Jonathan Coulton if it wasn't a good relationship.

Does this count?
it does in my book, daft punk songs are great for life soundtracks

ive had trouble showing emotion in general, so a breakup would result in a quiet falling out

if i was depressed about it, probably just this song then

Adam Lambert - Whataya Want From Me
It pretty much describes how depressed I was and how I really did fix up my life and get her back.

Surprisingly that last one fucntions as both a love song and a break up song. I know, grunge people have a very twisted sense of love.
