I've been listening to music like this since the expansion of cd players and the repeat track function. I have sleep songs, not "can't sleep" songs... get it?
Don't play it too loud, if you don't have too.
Please try these, if you haven't
Duke Ellington - Blues in Orbit (there aint too much that this song can't cure.)
Duke Ellington - Isfahan
Thievery Corporation - Language Symbolique
Sharon Apple - Borderline
Nobuo Uematsu - Provincial Town (my fiance teases me right up until the point where she passes the f*ck out)
Sometimes, I'm in the mood for SRV... Aaliyah has a bunch of good ones, Janet has a couple, some jazz works too. There area couple brilliant peices by Kodo, unfortunately I dont know the correct name of them. Listen to dramatic classical and opera if you need nightmare fuel. sometimes, it you listen to a song with words that you know by heart, in your dream, some of your projections will sing the song to you, its pretty cool. That happened to me during a week long session of "Night Shade Mary" by the Latin Playboys
Numerous other mellow and lounge songs to induce trancey state. I prefer the unobtrusive mellowness to sleep to, I dunno how you guys could possibly fall asleep to some of those 128 bpm techno anime themes, but to each their own.
My current favourite for the last three or four weeks is a bansuri composition (bansuri + tabla) by Ravi Shankar.... i'll try to find out the name of it tonight, and share it with you tomorrow ^_^
