Bill's Signle Action Army from Kill Bill may work. All you's have to do is get a regular Single Action Army and give it a curved grip, maybe with some faux pearl and add that crazy muzzle brake thing. It's probably not the MOST iconic pistol in the world, but it sure is classy!

I'd say the NS-357 Underboss from Planetside 2.

It's a neat future take on the old six-shooter revolvers that shoots slower than most pistols but packs a stupidly heft punch. It's easily one of the most satisfying weapons to use in the game. The sound alone is enough to do it, but add to that the fact that you can drop someone in 2 or 3 shots at close ranges just makes it so fun to use. When you manage to finish someone off in close-quarters with a single shot, you really feel like a gunslinger.

Deckards gun from Blade Runner is pretty sweet and inspired one of my favourite weapons in Fallout New Vegas, That Gun.

A .44 magnum revolver with an overbarrel bolt action for close encounters with violent humanoid robots.

No, you in fact lose the thread. Everyone who posts a revolver loses the thread.
For the record, the full technical term is 'revolving pistol'.

On topic, I second the Hellboy option. [small]Yaaaaaay, I win the thread TOO![/small]

You mean the weapon that Hellboy uses, or for revolvers as a whole? Because I can tell you that in both cases that is absolutely not true.

The HardCorps magnum pistol from SiN. Solid, no-nonsense semi-automatic action, with added red blocky thing!

Also, Nero's Blue Rose from Devil May Cry 4. For when you absolutely have to shoot two bullets at once from a revolver and reload twice as often.

Gonna be the 40k nerd and go with the Ork Slugga.

I have a soft spot for Orky ramshackle design anyway but the slugga is juet a badass pistol. Not really a signature weapon for any one character but still pretty recognizable.

Also Bayonetta's stilletto pistols because...gunboots.

While it is also a real-life gun, I hope the Five-Seven from Counter-Strike: Source counts.

It's hard to explain exactly what it is that I love so much about this particular gun. Just the overall style of it I suppose; the look of the gun, the sound it makes when fired several times in rapid succession...

Call me boring, but this one will always have a place on my virtual belt.

Well, Malcom Reynold's Revolver is not a pistol (which also disqualifies the Taurus Judge), so I would like to say Alucard's handgun from Hellsing...no wait, the LX-18 with a scope has a special place in my heart. I have no idea why, it's not very powerful, it's not iconic or unique looking, but whenever someone says "Think of a pistol" that's the one that immediately jumps to mind. I guess the Glock 18 is cool too, seeing how it's fully automatic. But then again...that classifies it as a machine pistol along with Uzi's and Mac's. Pretty sure the Tec-9 is classed as a sub-machine gun and that I'm getting way off topic.

So, I wanted to say Maria from New Vegas, because of the barrel carvings, but I don't now because I never saw the handle in-game and it makes me uneasy.

And while the LX-18 is great, it's not iconic and not worth your time (but I'll leave a link anyway.) http://timesplitters.wikia.com/wiki/LX-18

And the Mauser is just a gun, I've never seen it used by anyone special so...Walther P2K. 007 Nightfire. Final answer. Unless you can make one glow, in which case you should make a Maliwan handgun. The ones from the second game glow so good.

EDIT: How could I forget. The flintlock pistol from Fable. Flintlocks are awesome. Do that one.

I've always liked the Halo Magnum, it looks futuristic while still looking practical. Considering its fame for having a scope and being over powered, I like to think it is iconic.

This was also the first gun that came to mind for me, not only is it a powerful weapon that works well in every level of the game at all ranges but I think given how good it was it became THE go to weapon for anyone who played the game.

For my pick I'm gonna say the colt .45 because it just screams "AMERICA!". Came into use over 100 years ago and for many people there's still nothing better. Sadly the US downgraded to an italian pistol, the beretta 92s I think it's called. It's a little 9mm pistol good for training but lacks the caliber needed for battle.

Nordberg's pistol from the Naked Gun 2 1/2. At first glance it looks like pretty basic model,
but its upgradability is unparalleled!

Although I think automatic pistols are stupid as shit
BelgoMP from Brink looks really cool

Based on this real life concept/prototype/thing

Because if you are going to make automatic sidearm adding second handle and stock is wise decision.

I mean for revolvers as a whole - and am curious as to why, exactly, you feel that us revolver-fans are so grossly mistaken.

Historically, the word 'pistol' originally meant any firearm operated with one hand. The inclusion of a revolving cylinder which allowed for multiple shots between reloadings was nothing but an upgrade to an existing invention. Only as the new-fangled 'revolving pistol' gradually became the norm, did the term evolve into the more tongue-friendly 'revolver'.

Later, when semi-automatics with spring-loaded magazines first began to surface, the then-obsolete term 'pistol' found a new purpose. As its original meaning was largely forgotten by the general public, the 'It's a pistol, NOT a revolver' - controversy became reality.

I'll accept that 'm wrong, but would like to know why.

On topic, perhaps some elaboration is in order: I'm casting my vote for Hellboy's revolver because of every truly iconic (or just plain outlandish) weapon from every movie I have seen, the fool who finds himself on the wrong side of THAT thing, is the fool I pity the most!
