So I figured we need a thread where everyone can post things that will potentially make us all rage, so if you feel the need to get annoyed you can just just click on this and read some rage-worthy stories or biased news! Since it'll cover a range of topics then Off-topic seems the best place.

I'll start it off with a video that's bound to make some gamers rage. It happened a while ago but as far as I know Alan Titchmarsh doesn't spread all over the world, so some people may find this pretty aggrovating... and hell watching it back myself is making me rage. The original un-edited video seems to be taken down, but this one with some occasional annotations over should suffice. Watch Alan Titchmarsh and two randoms show you how little they know.

Its really such a stupid argument to be having its not that video games are violent its that parents aren't using the parental features of the systems to lock them and make sure their children can't play those games. The parents are the ones letting their children be raised by TV and other forms of media, also how do children get these games without their parents consent because they certainly don't have their own money to buy them. All this backlash against violent video games is just failures as parents trying to cover up their own faults and shortcomings and place the blame on the games.

When in fact all the power lies with the parents they just have to actually be parents and stop trying to be their kids best friend because I'm quite sure their kids have enough friends. The resposibilty lies with the parents I don't care how many studies you do that proves the link between violent video games and violent behavior from children because quite frankly if most parents were competent we wouldn't have this problem in the first place. Trying to get rid of violent video games is such a lazy solution thought up by the government and would probably end up as successful as Prohibition.

Has anyone considered that maybe it's violent children that play violent videogames? Oh, and I'm pretty sure that adolescent males are and probably always will be a bit more violent than everyone else regardless of their videogame habits.

Honestly? This...this thread actually pisses me off a little. I watched the video, and while it isn't a pillar of intellectualism and thought, it doesn't seem that bad. You've got two people who say, "See, my understanding is that this is making our people violent; can we talk about that?"; maybe I'm reading too much into it, but they only seemed to be listening to the guy who was telling them they were wrong. What's more, the detractor seemed to be portrayed as crazy; I very much doubt that was done on accident. All in all, it seems to be in favor of an open-minded mindset, and encouraging actually thinking about what you've been told. And the guy on our side? He seemed to win. He had solid arguments and spent the most time talking; the blond woman's argument was "Games are violent! Violence is bad!" and the third guy didn't even make an argument, he just pointed at her and said, "Uhh, for the purposes of argument, can you prove she's full of shit?" Which he does.

What's more, whoever made the captions for the video is a moron. Would you let your child watch Saving Private Ryan? Would you let your child watch Akira? Would you let your child watch Inglorious Basterds? No, because they're not for children. That doesn't mean that they're bad, just that they can be traumatizing if you aren't prepared for them. What's more, he seems to assume everyone is lying about...well everything, continuously calls people "retarded" and misspells "currupted". No, really, it's right at the beginning. And did you miss the part where he censors the guy? Did you all miss that? A detraction video like this makes people like that blond woman look right. That's not what we want.

So...maybe you all have no priorities. Or I'm completely missing the point; is the stupid person narrating what everyone's pissed off about?

An aside, an aside: I thought the average age for gamers was mid 20's-30's. If it wasn't, why would all these violent games be being made in the first place?
