I just got an idea for a perfect X4 game.
All that it would have to do... HAVING AN INFINITE RESEARCH ROUTE.

Because I just played Space Empires IV and after maxing out tech (which is quite easy in this one TBH) it just gets boring :(.

My dream is a game exactly like the one you just described.

No? Ok, I want a game that prepares my meals, cleans my house and walks my dog while I play Fallout: New Vegas. That would be awesome.
And pays my Rent/Bills.

It's another Zelda game in which your first weapon is not the sword, but the double hookshot. And all the forest kids have double hookshots and get around the forest like steampunk Tarzans.

My dream game is something like if you took Borderlands and Fallout 3 combined them and made it slightly harder and a survival horror game.

It's a sandbox that takes place in a small town that's slowly overrun with a viral infestation. Like prototype, the town (city) itself changes visually over time. Like silent hill or dead space (bad example, but I'll continue) the monsters in the game are freaks that are... Well... Freaky. Like Borderlands and Fallout 3, there's a mix between FPS and RPG where you level your character over time but still maintain the first person shooter aspect.

The main storyline is split between 3 campaigns that all take place in the same town. (Basically it determines which quests you take throughout the game.) You can either join the people of the town and help them escape, you can help the military (who are 'keeping an eye' on the infestation by blocking all the people in) by doing experiments with the town (yes, the military are behind the infestation) or join the ranks of the infested and just kill everyone.

The emphasis would be on exploration with combat taking a 2nd place, and picking one story to follow until the end. Each campaign will permanently change the town someway, and after the end you can just run around and have fun with the world you created/destroyed.

An Elder Scrolls game with an explorable area roughly the size of the U.S. (maybe all of Tamriel?) and with hundreds of personalized skills, customizable armor (like a blacksmith skill) thousands of individual npcs, millions of quests, and over 50,000 caves and other areas to explore. And a badass storyline, with at least 500 factions that are joinable and have their individual storylines, and are all playable with multiple outcomes.
*drools*
I asked about FUTURE games :). Your game had a premier in 1996 and it was called Daggerfall :p.

Ok not exactly that but you get my drift :p...

It's called Half-Life 2 Episode 3.

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Beat me to it.

Here is a couple of my dream games:

A zombie apocalypse MMO.

A massive medieval war game. (Huge battles with thousands of other players, no magic or anything)

A new MMO very similar to this post:

An MMO that feels like a real world.
NPCs that wander constantly, have speech and conversations with each other, some offer quests, others don't, no exclamation point to let you know if they have a quest.
Real destruction physics, and world PVP with siege weapons and the like.
Cities that can be destroyed, or damaged, buildings have to be built back up if you want to use them again, and the NPC is (always) gone with the building.
Great combat that feels part RPG, part action. Kind of like Guild Wars' combat - fast paced, with some time to wait for some stuff.
A story throughout the game, changes depending on how the world PVP is going. ie - City X gets destroyed, and the main story required you to go through City X. Must either wait or help retake and rebuild City X in order to progress, becomes a new quest line.
A huge, single world. One server, tons of players. No instancing, 'cept dungeons, of course.

I donno, sounds good to me.

A fully 3D portable Pokemon game that plays kind of like Blue, Gold, Ruby etc. (ie, dungeons, gyms, wild Pokemon) and only has the first 252(?) Pokemon in it.

(why this hasn't been done yet, I'll never know) An Iron Man game where you are Tony Stark. I mean you see who you have to face and design armor based around that. Pretty much an Iron Man Armored Corps.

An open world RPG with a focus on character interaction. NPCs with interesting, multi-dimensional personalities and sophisticated enough AI to simulate real people.

Else, some sort of massive team-based FPS with a map like that of Fallout 3 (huge areas, varied buildings, scattered equipment, etc), that simulates a soldier's need for eating, sleeping, etc. Rounds in this game would probably take a good day or two to complete, no respawning.
