Your dumbest deaths in gaming

Share the pain. I want to hear about the times you have done something incredibly stupid and gotten yourself killed in a game for the dumbest of reasons.

An example is wacthing me play Pokemon and getting killed because that stupid move decided to miss.

in halo 3, blowing up a mongoose when someone was riding it, the damn thing flies forward and hits me in the face therefore killing me... woot(!)

throwing a grenade high into the air and it hits a tall building, comes back down and kills me.

In Metroid Prime 2, I had barely escaped a horde of Ing with about 9 health left, and I was a bit too overzealous in going through a door because a walked straight off the ledge in the next room and died.

EDIT: One of my friends and I were playing the original Halo, and it autosaved while we were driving full speed off of a cliff, and every time we respawned, we couldn't turn, stop, or get out before we went flying off the cliff again.

I took a wrong turn in Mirrors Edge to evade some police. Turns out I turned and jumped off of a 100 story sky-skraper without realizing it. That game would have been so much better as an open world.

Throwing grenades in Halo, only to have them bounce back and kill me.

Oh and in Fear, if a grenade touches a person it goes off instantly. Several times I'm behind a wall, I throw a grenade but the damn collision detection is screwy and sometimes I blow myself up.

The game was Fallout 3. I had just escaped the squeaky-clean corridors of Vault 101, on an epic quest to find my father, and save the world from the clutches of a shadow government.

I tripped over a landmine and blew myself to a fine red paste.

I tried fighting Matriarch Benezia on the hardest difficulty in Mass Effect on my first play-through.

Rainbow Six 3, my friend and I were playing co-op. I try throwing a grenade around the corner while he's crouched in front of me, but he stands up as I throw it, so it bounces off his head and kills us both.

I have another fail. Trying to throw a Molotov over a wall in L4D only to have said Molotv bounce off the wall and set fire thus incapping me.

On Expert. Online. With people who don't take kindly to me being a retard......

Needless to say that little box to vote kick me popped up pretty damn fast.

In Fallout 3, throwing a nuka grenade at someone on a ledge above me, before it bounces off and proceeds to blow up in my face EVER SO SLOWLY.

One time in X Men Legends 2 I leaped off the edge of a cliff just to see if the game would let me. It did. My cousin and brother have yet to let me live it down (although to be fair, I accidently ended up dying in similar fashion not ten minutes later, so that was what solidified it).

alright...so im standing there in halo 3...minding my own business with a sniper rifle...when a flaming warthog carcass falls DIRECTLY on me from the sky...causing death and owies..........=(

This one didn't cause the death of my character but it caused the person who died to come to me. The game was Grand Theft Auto IV, and I was just itching to try out my new Sniper Rifle so I stole a helicopter from the Airport went to the tallest building that I could get on which also had a flat surface, after shooting a bunch of people the black helicopters showed up and I began to shoot them down but one managed to illude me and one of the people from inside the copter jumped down onto the rooftop and killed themselves because the pilot wasn't low enough. XD
