Navyfield.

If you have played, you will probably understand.

Also, ARMA II: OA. Definitely not a run and gun.

Recently joined a game of Left 4 Dead 2 with two French retards who charged off ahead, and I mean far ahead, chattering and laughing loudly. I swear one or the other was alerting the horde about every 60 seconds, which is quite hard to do. I'm played plenty of games with unskilled players who don't fight very well, but the ones that annoy me are the idiots for whom restraint and caution are concepts that apply only to mere mortals.

It's great when I kill twice as many zombies as them, though.
I knew this post would be great once i read up to "two french retards"... Twas not disappointed. Ah lols

OT: Um i haven't played many online games for a while, i suppose noone in the entire game Armour Locking any of my stickies on Halo (Elite Slayer of course) would be considered a bit noobish...

Oh and all of the goons in Batman: AA are noobs for even bothering to even try me... I'm motherfucking Batman

Some Noob was hacking on Combat Arms and someone managed to kill him (he had speed hacks). He blerted out 'How the F!@K did you kill me, you must be hacking to kill a hacker'. The guy that killed him was recording at the time and since then, the noob was permenantly banned from the game.

I think just being me when it comes to playing online shooters in enough of an experience with a noob. But I guess this is about other people. I had a team in Left 4 Dead 2 VS who seemed to think it was a camp and hold off zombies mode. I couldn't find my mic so I tried as hard as possible to convince that we had to MOVE (bunny hopping while moving along the route, shooting at them) but they just kept killing the common infected and not moving more than a few feet from the safe room, needless to say the enemy team showed up and gang raped us in less than a minute.

My friends and I do that, "safe-room camping" as we call it. It's fun as hell. See how long it takes for the other team to actually kill us.

I generally try not to get mad at noobs, we were all noobs once right? Also it doesn't really help. If they are doing something stupid just tell them (politely! or it will be a flame war after all). It often solves the problem instantly.

It does tic me off when, in their ignorance, they somehow think they are better than me.

Like if you are waiting in a good spot as infected in l4d versus and they get angry because omg why u not attack n00b?askdpfrrrpfpfpfp kick this naab!

Or in any mmo ever: "hurrduurrr you cant solo that boss omgomg derp" Ummm I just did Einstein? Just because you can't come up with a better plan than "LEEROOOOY..." Doesn't mean it's impossible.

And about that whole distinction between noobs and newbs: just because you define the words like that doesn't mean the rest of the world does. I've been scolded for noob, n00b, naab, newb, newbie and 46 more variations and I'm pretty sure none of them meant it in a good way.

Ok people there seems to be some confusion in the thread with some people. A newb is someone who is new at the game and has yet to learn a noob is someone who abuses cheap mechanics and refuses to learn(eg for CoD 4 runs around with P90 at the hip never ever aiming down the sight or just using a 40mil as soon as he/she spawns). So no we were not all noobs once or whatever other comment about noobs being new.

OT: So many bad moments with people in Guild Wars after telling them what to do and then having them not do it. That and atrociously bad/quick aggros.

I have played with some good French players as well, just those two particularly stand out.

It'd be okay if they didn't telegraph their feeble punches half a minute in advance.

Interviewed a guy once for a spot in a WoW guild. He was so cluelessly cute I interviewed him for two hours, just to hear all his misconceptions on game mechanics. He happily talked on for the duration, absolutely convinced of some of the biggest nonsense I had heard in 4 years playing.

And I still have fond memories of the guy who apparently didn't like me, and told me "You are STUPIT!".

No problems with noobs, means a few extra points for me ^^. They have to learn somehow anyway, nobody starts off as a pro.

the only "noobs" i don't like are the headstrong ones, thinking they're above the advice of more expirienced players
