You do not have any. We get it. Bad shit happens in the world and people do terrible things. But you have to ask yourself "Why do I keep saying this?" I see it under threads of all kinds. I saw it under a thread about the murder of a child. I saw it under a thread about how Activision likes to make money and I will probably see it under a thread about a clown telling a particularly bad joke. There are some times when I can understand this sentiment and there are many times where I say "Really? That's what killed your faith in the human race as a whole?" We have a problem on these forums and that is an incredible lack of creativity.

How many "Your Avatar x" threads do I have to see in the next month? How many "The item to your right is now X in Zombie invasion Y" threads are going to float around this year? And how many people are going to lose their faith in humanity because a frog got run over on the side of the street tomorrow? These stock threads and stock responses and all their faux depth and all their faux attempts at discourse really must be replaced with something better. I have faith in humanity Escapist. And I have faith in you guys. I have faith that we can truly create an intelligent forum where an actual response is generated to mildly displeasing news and where appropriate respect is brought to tragedies and it is discussed in a mature and adult manner. Please Escapist vindicate my faith. My faith in you.

TLDR: Fuck TLDR read the damn OP or dont post in the thread.

Its just a fad phrase from the misanthropic teenagers of the gaming community, they'll grow out of it. The over 20s who still don't see any good in the world though, well I pity them.

and yeah I agree theres a lot of bullshit pointless threads here, again, started by the teens. I just ignore it and post in threads that interest me. The maturity level isnt very high here, as much as they like to say it is; mostly due to the age groups, thats just something we have to deal with or go to a different forum.

Fads last less than 3 years which is how long I have been here and I saw it on my first day with an account and I have seen it plenty of days since. How long before this "Fad" gets replaced with actual responses?

Do I count? I wont really be over 20 (21) until august. If by then I suddenly become optimistic, am I saved from your pity?

I dont actually care if you pity me, I just want to know for curiosity sake.

(Im one of those people who dont see any good in the world. I assume you guessed that, but my assumptions have been wrong enough before to include disclaimers more)

What was the point of this reply if you really don't care what I think?

Yes I think it's very sad that you don't see any good in the world or people around you, and I think if you're one of those people who then complain they have no friends or cant relate to anyone, you've truly brought it upon yourself with your own attitude to life.

Happy now?

I am curious. Not everything I look to learn about do I actually care too much about. Also you know the answer to if I am happy now.

It's never been higher. And it's going up and up and up!

...Incidentally, I happen to be way happier than most people around me. I can't imagine why.

I do have faith in humanity. We do terrible things, it's true, but we also can do amazing things. Humanity can't be considered only good or evil, but both. Not everyone is going to be Mother Teresa, but not everyone is going to be completely crazy.

So yes, I still believe in humanity

I was doing it before it was cool! But seriously, I have no faith because I would rather people prove that they're capable of good rather than sit naively thinking they will. So far humanity is about half and half for me, there are plenty of people doing good, and just as many people doing bad.

Well fad may have been a bad choice of word. But in all honesty it's normally just another sentiment from the people who claim they're unique and better than the majority of people around them, but in their own community they're as bland and easily interchangable as everyone else.

Basically, I've learned to deal with it here. If you can't, thats understandable to me, but you probably shouldn't be here because nothing is going to change as long as this place has the High School kids and people who self-diagnose their social mental disorders.

Yes I was going to include a little joke there at the end about "oh I guess you can't be happy" but I thought it was a little too blunt and rude. Really thought I accept you I just don't understand your approach to life and I don't think it does people any favors.

How I feel about Humanity and the world in general:

Yes there are some sick people out there and there always will be, but in general Humans are awesome, we're brave, courageous, giving, empathic, intelligent, and I have no doubt that our future holds great things...

Umad?

OT: I agree. People overuse the term way too much, and I admit I've used it all too often myself. It started annoying me after a while.

i don't have faith in humans. Not because of the shit you said but because i stopped seeing humans as "Amazing" or "Unique" or "Evolved" I see humans as we are. We are beasts. We are savages. We are not fit to live on this planet anymore.
Then what is fit to live on this planet? We are a lot better than everything else that breaths on this floating piece of rock. Of that I can assure you.

Just about everyone loves some optimism, and Discovery channel commercials...

Look, people get BORED, okay? I come to the Escapist specifically to use up time when I haven't got much else going on. I don't bother with the faith/no-faith thing with people, but I do not care HOW MANY zombie threads we have on here. I'M FROM PITTSBURGH, DAMMIT!

Just because you are bored doesn't mean you have to settle for mediocrity.
