Have you thought up your own personality/story for your Fallout character?
My character was based on Naked Snake but then I gave him an Abraham Lincoln makeover once I found the hat.
Now he is Super Zombie Lincoln, infused with the super strength of ants and he is out for revenge!

The last character I made was "Jill Valentine" of Resident Evil fame. Unfortunately she lost alot of her morality in the transition from Resident Evil to Fallout and thus she switched back and forth between the destined hero of the wastleland to the evil right hand woman of the president.

As soon as I became aware of the Nuclear Anomoly perk I knew what I had to do.
I made him Asian, gave him waster hair and called him 'Tetsuo'.

He's a well meaning jerk, who is often dosed up on ridiculous amounts of chems. And thanks to mods he even as a motorcycle (much better fast travelling method!)

My New Vegas character is an uptight, smart ass, unlucky guy that isn't very strong physically and while good natured at heart can get pretty pissed off and go all out kamikaze on you with That Gun.

His fashion sense includes a nice and well kept mustache and beard, a suave black and white suit, sunglasses and 1st Recon beret to remind him of his short but successful time in the military that sadly had a very bad ending which caused him to leave.

Also when I downloaded Honest Hearts and saw the "Sneering Imperialist" perk I knew it was made for him.

(Both games) Zoey is a pretty brunette with a Wendy the Welder hairdo, green eyes, and fair skin. She wears a bandana, spectacles, and spiked metal armor. Any quest that saves, helps, assists, or unburdens the populace of the Wasteland is considered important and worth doing,..and she always has clean water to spare for the poor. She continuously tries to make it a better place by calmly coming to a diplomatic solution or if they refuse to listen to reason,..with the use of handguns, bolt-action rifles, and semi-automatics. But she usually uses a clean and well-kept 10mm sub-machine gun called, Justice.

The smooth-talking, plasma rifle-wielding, grenade-chucking, suit-wearing neutral who mostly tries to do the good thing until a large enough sum of caps or other rare object is waved his way

Mines a diplomatic wanderer who rarely shows his face, what with being covered in all manners of heavy armor, from metal or power armor.

Well spoken and a bargain hunter. You'll usually get a good bit of work out of him though you may end up paying more than you bargained for once you offer the pay and he convinces you for more. The alternative of being blasted by This Machine, destroyed by an Alien Blaster or set ablaze with an Incinerator isn't the most desired outcome. Not to mention if you leave him a lone with your valuables, well, they wont be yours for very long.

Piss him off to the greatest degree and watch in horror as his Fat Man, complete with Little Boy mod, blows you and your friends into a giant group of body parts!

Watch out for the Mysterious Stranger that often comes to his defense as well or you'll be even more hurt.

My NV character, oh where shall I begin with my ludicrousness role-playing?

My main character is a lone wonderer, works alone, always. She is harsh but fair helping out those in need but killing anything that doesn't get out of the way. Adept with guns, energy, explosives and stealth making use of her favourite A-M-R and Hunting Shotgun. Kills swiftly, before they know she is there, if dragged into a fire-fight she is quick to switch to her recently acquired 12.7mm rifle (previously 'This Machine'). Self preserving she takes the route to control New Vegas alone defeating the NCR but allowing them to leave and saving the president.

A fan of the NCR Ranger Veteran gear she is adept at infiltrating the hostile NCR camps and looting them of supplies before rigging the entire base with C4 or dropping down Archimedes if the mood takes her. The Survivalist of the Utah province is whom she emulates in her combat style making good use of his armour. Rarely caught in close combat due to a frame built for agility and hit-n-run tactics.

(I play Hardcore of V.Hard with a dozen of so characters.)

My Fallout 3 Character is an Opportunistic Smartass who's not above screwing people over for some caps he's more of a neutral entity than a good guy, but despite all that he does sometimes work for the greater good, when he finds there is no other choice, if there are children involved, or if the evil act in question is so awful that it disgusts even his own low standards of morality, or if he can make more caps being good. He wasn't always like this, upon leaving the vault he was optimistic, if a little frightened, so he began to develop a sarcastic sense of humor to hide his insecurity, especially when going into a dangerous job, his father's death finally broke him though. he learned, thanks to Colonel Autumn, that life was cheap, he went on to hold a grudge against the Enclave, brutally killing the soldiers he comes across.

He's always ready with a witty comeback, he usually gets shit faced in his spare time, his alcoholism spurred on by his father's death and has become somewhat of a compulsive liar, especially in matters of revenge.

My favourite character I've made (in Fallout 3) is this classy young lady with stylish hair and one of those sweet dark gray suits (and cool shades of course). She never wears armour, because it dosn't look neat and she never uses guns because they're so loud and cumbersome. Instead, she sneaks behind her enemis and stabs them with the samurai sword she found on the alien ship after being abducted.
Because style is everything, she obviously lives in the Tenpenny tower with all the other better people. She's also a cannibal, a slaver and a contract killer, and an all around asshole, if you ask most people. But of course they just don't get it. In the wasteland you have to be a bit of an asshole to do well. Besides, what do those peasants in their dirty rags and ugly power armours know about anything anyway?

In both of my Fallouts (3 and NV) its based on diffirent versions of me, exept they are all good...pretty easy

good talker, good in Unarmed, guns, talking, medicine and repairing...

usaully a man, brown/blond hair, normal long male hair, body armour (Medium), and a visor helmet that matches my armour if not go for a kick ass hat, plus glasses or face cover.

I like to create a bunch of different characters who each have a unique set of skills

I have one character per ending for New Vegas. A stealthy sneaky bastard who has good science, speech and lockpick skills along with a high small guns for the NCR, a classy girl who is more of a talker and fixer than a fighter for Mister House, a Andrew Ryan ripoff for my independent and a ugly as sin, min intelligence but max charisma, fat headed pale bastard with hair the color of a french fry for my Legion ending.

As for Fallout 3, I've had a junk load of characters for that. Some that come to mind would be an guy who I pretended to be a Space Marine from Warhammer 40K once I got power armor training, a sneaky guy with max lockpick and science (and he was my funnest once I got the stealth armor from Anchorage: sneakin, letting deathclaws kill the owners in the airforce base in Broken Steel etc.) and a guy who was a complete an utter bastard.

Nice!

It must have had special meaning when you were hallucinating through the swamps of Point Lookout. Wasn't there a bobblehead that climbed up on to Tetsuo's bed? I need to add that bike mod to my game.

My New Vegas Character (the last Fallout character I made) was Lucy Gonzo (based on the girl picked up by Duke's attorney in Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas) who was similarly chemed up and very untrusting. So much so that she raised a robot army to take over everything herself.
