Hello Escapist guys and gals, recently yours truely has been playing fallout 3.

Obsessively.

While i am enjoying myself i have noticed that i almost always end up makeing the same character; a Vault saint, skilled in repair, speech, lockpick, and small guns (to name a few) now, this got me thinking, what are some of the character's that the escapist make in the fallout games?

So do tell, what's your fallout character, have they stayed the same thru out all the games, do you mix it up with every game? Do you make a different character pertaining to the different game?

I stay with the same evil black sniper dude with bad hair that he covers up with a downloaded beret.

I always end up with a good natured scientist, or a thick skulled villain who loves to grind people to pieces with a chain gun.

Sometimes I'm a badass warlord of the wasteland, other times I'm a rugged survivor with nothing but his dog and assault rifle. It depends how much of a dick I'm feeling.

No matter what skills and attributes I give a character in Fallout 3 I can't help make him into a super good guy. The one time I made an evil character I did the mission where you blow up Megaton and then felt really bad about it and haven't played with that character since.

My characters always stay the same I usually pick explosives, repair, speech, science, and energy weapons. Something about watching your enemies disintegrate or just flying in every direction imaginable is a magical experience. I don't really pick a good or bad side thought usually just a chaotic neutral.

My character usually starts out with extremely low Charisma and Perception, and starts out with a high intelligence, luck, and strength.
Usually how I play the game depends on what my guy looks like. If he's generally a freak, I make him go crazy evil. If he's a cool looking dude, I make him work for that good karma. But at the end, my main objective usually comes down to, 'Kill everything with a gun.'
I personally focus on sneak and lock pick skills first, but then I move on to barter, medicine, science, and small guns.

Hell yeah.

Explosives, repair, speech, science, and energy weapons. Re-skinned plasma weapons ftw!!!

A glorious day in THIS MANS army!!!

This is my problem. I played through once as evil, and that was enough. It was a joyless experience.

My favorite character always ends up being a grizzled wastelander with a heart of gold. I help every one without a thought to my own safety.

And I wish walking around with the ghoul mask on elicited different reactions from people. That would be neat. Not really related to this thread, but it just popped into my head.

It would have been nice if they had more reaction to the armor you were wearing, period.

I mean, it just seems a little unlikely that a slaver would wilingly attempt to talk shit to a guy wearing Outcast Power armor.

Yeah. I've played a few games where enemies run away from you when you get to a certain strength. If you are strong enough to wear power armor, then some of those guys should know better. It's a nice feature that could have easily been included.

I would have loved it if bloatflies had stopped bothering me by the time I got to level 5. Waste of ammo just to get the little buggers off your ass.

My character's called "Liam Neeson Jr". He's skilled in small guns, medicine, science, and is one hell of a good shot with a Hunting Rifle. I still have the original one I took from the corpse of my first Super-Mutant (but it's been repaired so often there is probably no original parts left). Generally he's dressed as Abe Lincoln, but with Sunglasses. He's also really good (or as good as you can be for someone who kills things for a living).

I only have the one guy, and I put all my play time into him. Naturally his stats are all maxed out now so he just punches Deathclaws for fun.

Sari 'Brick' Beatdown, a wasteland Saint that has a perchance for Melee, smoothtalking, and stealth.

She's the one that sticks out the most in my mind, though the other really noticable one is 'The Shot', a wastland guy who didn't really help or hinder anyone... minus the bullets he put though their heads with his sniper-rifle and Gauss gun.

I play differantly due to the fact that 'they could have built me to love, but instead they use me for war'

maxed out most of my stats,i think i was level 26 (didnt really care about leveling), main skills though were lockpick, repair, medicine, and small guns at first but that quikly switched to energy weapons, and if i took every character iv ever had it would go to 2000 hours roughly.
