So I recently found out(somehow no one had ever told me before) that one of my ancestors/relatives is Arthur Donaldson Smith, an amateur big game hunter and medical doctor who recieved praise from Theodore Roosevelt for his book about his explorations in Africa. We actually has letters from Teddy Roosevelt and a king of Ethiopia to him and his original maps of Africa he had drawn. What famous ancestors do you have?

I'm not sure if I have any famous ancestors. I'll have to look further into my family tree.

well, how far back are we allowed to go? Because anything more than a thousand years, and you're basically related to every single person who lived in Europe/Asia/Africa/NorthAmerica (depending on which area your ancestry traces to.

So... i'm related to every European who lived in the dark ages. I'm sure there were some pretty bad ass knights back then.

I believe I have something to do with some spanish conquistador. But I'm not sure, give me some time to check.
EDIT: Aha! I got it! Well, not exactly, but there is definitely some spaniards blood in my veins. Who knows, maybe I'm related to that Cortez guy. Or maybe Tulio and/or Miguel?

One of my great-great uncles was one of Hitler's advisers. He was also in Operation: Valkyrie.
Another relative came to America on the Mayflower itself.
My mom went to high school with 3 of the creators of Google. They even offered to sell her stocks in the company. ***** didn't take them. Thanks, mom!

Edit: I'm also related to the guy who wrote "O Holy Night."

He was a regimental officer too. My family has his diary.

Apparently I'm related to the Egan Brothers that rode with Jesse James.

I can't find a confirmation though, due to my grandfather having been a right bastard and decided to cut us off from anything.

I can't find any information about my family tree. It's as though we're aliens...

Nice, I'm related to 5 presidents, Not sure all of them but 1 is Taylor.
I'm related to him as well. I'm also more closely related to one of the master stonemasons who helped build Cambridge.

Hmm...No presidents here, but a far off cousin of my father is:
Derek Bentley. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derek_Bentley_case]
His case was used in the appeal to get rid of the death penalty in Britain.

Sadly, that's the only one I know for sure.
