We have enough trouble hybridizing species that have less than a 1% genetic difference between them and are all but identical in morphology. A feline with a rodent? It would be easier to do your own version of the classic "around the world in eighty days", ON FOOT

Proboscis

I'd have a wolf that's big enough to ride, mainly because that would be an awesome mode of transportation, and you could coax it to poop on the lawns of your enemies and yeah, those would be some BIG poops... hehehe...

A black, one eyed, talking wolf that can transform into different weapons like a revolver, dagger, spear, sword, etc. that would be sweet.

I don't like the term "pet" as I don't think someone should be able to own another lifeform. Instead I'll call them Friend or Companion. I like companion.

I knew right away who my fantasy companion would be.
