Just as the title says, i thought of this thread as a way for people to talk about music albums that they really enjoy that are a little less well known.
Personally, my favorite is Dinosaurchestra by Lemon Demon. A very unusual piece, every song is extremely enjoyable and light-hearted; i would describe them as a younger, more musical version of They Might Be Giants. Hope to see lots of good albums =)

King of the Nordic Twilight is Luca Turilli's greatest piece of work he has ever worked on. Not counting the epic finale to the Emerald Sword saga of course!

"Music by Cavelight" by Blockhead is one of my personal favourites.
Blockhead is awesome, Downtown Science is my favorite album of theirs.

OT: I gotta say Amon Tobin's Out From Out Where is my favorite of his.

It's a tossup between Living Undesigned by Trial Kennedy, and A History of Houses by The Siren Tower. Two great Aussie bands that deserve way more recognition than they get.

Since i discovered them as a band as apposed to just that song, I've asked around, and while some people know of ultimate showdown, i haven't found anyone really that knows of the band by name.

Not what I'd call a lesser known album. But it is one of the best power metal albums ever made.
Yeah, that's why I said it's prolly not true overall. But I rarely come across people who've actually heard of Blind Guardian, even on the internet it's not as often.

I think it would be either Niche Syndrome by One Ok Rock or Buiikikaesu by Maximum the Hormone.

The first Album from Disillusion, Back to Times of Splendor.
Sadly for me is, with their second Album they changed the style a bit more to Electronic and I don't like that.

Not particularly unknown, but I'd go for Caravan Palace's self titled album. Got to love electro swing :)
