Since I discovered how many full albums are actually on Youtube, I figured I'd share a few of my favorites. Also, I'd love to hear others' favorites and talk about/discuss what we liked about the other peoples choices. The criteria: The album has to be something you love from beginning to end. You couldn't imagine skipping a track, and you love the cohesive whole. If there's no Youtube, feel free to share it in text anyway. I'm looking to broaden my horizons and will search out things I see. With that said, here's what I got.

My introduction to music outside of the radio/MTV. Still my favorite DEP album. Extremely technical with a jazz influence. Play it at my damned funeral if you find me dead.

Devin Townsend just has an energy that I haven't seen elsewhere. It's like Fear Factory decided to throw out the rulebook and push their work to its logical extreme. Give it a couple minutes, at least. He has solo work that is lighter and covers more genres, but I don't love it as much.

The Locust are from another planet. Seriously. They came to earth to show off the musical power of Martians, and nobody is listening.

Yes, drastically different from the last few. I listen to this album all the time, and it always calms me right down.

I usually listen to this when I go to bed, or to aid in meditation. I consider this album his masterpiece.

There are Pink Floyd songs I like much more from other albums, but this is the only one I enjoy as a complete whole. Yes, more than The Wall.

I couldn't find an Elliott Smith album, but every single one of them would count if I could. He's my favorite musician in the history of human civilization.

Have fun sharing your favorites, and maybe let me know if you found new music thanks to me? That always feels good. I'll be happy to do the same. I love when an entire album is an experience, not just a few songs off of them.

There are only really two albums I only listen from beginning to end.

Our Lady Peace - Naveed

Dredg - El Cielo

The former moreso because I've always listened to it from start to finish since it came out. The latter however, is like going on this awesome journey.

In recent albums I'd have to say El Camino by The Black Keys has proven to be pretty good.

there arent many albums I can say I like as a whole

probably though Year Zero by Nine Inch Nails mainly due to the fact its a concept album with a full blown narrative (I also like to think of it as a concept album for Mass Effect 3)

The Birthday Massacre - Violet.

Pure perfection, it's like diving into a dark fairytale. Those short instrumental songs in-between are really the final touch to finish deep atmosphere.

Honestly, Warren Zevon's "Excitable Boy" might be the best beginning to end album I have ever heard. I picked it up from a local used record store last year because it had Werewolves of London, Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner and Excitable Boy on it, but every time I start listening to it I can't skip a damn song. I love that album.

Miles Kane's Colour of The Trap
A strong debut album with a sense of the artist. From this, you could see why Alex Turner wanted to team up with Miles Kane for an album.

KoL's Only By The Night
Note: For best effect, consume during long journeys at night.

Travis' The Man Who
Travis in one word? Pleasant.

Franz Ferdinand's er.... Franz Ferdinand (Debut self titled album)
New! Bold! Unique! If you haven't listened to any FF before...

Radiohead's The Bends
Every song is a gem. Perfect transition album between Pablo Honey's more rock/punk-ish style to OK Computer's more experimental/alternative style.

Simple Mind's Sparkle in The Rain
80's stadium rock? Yeah, pretty good.

And finally The Police's Regatta de Blanc
Their finest moment.

I didn't bother putting any vid links cos honestly, who's going to listen to an entire album from this forum?

The first CD I ever bot as a 12 year old kid:

Insane Clown Posse's The Great Melinko

To this day it's probably my favorite album of all time. Though I will say that ICP certainly isn't for everyone. :p

Major props to this selection. I LOVE this album, and I can't understand why it seems to be somewhat underrated. Pigs(Three Different Ones) is my 2nd fave Floyd song.

My full-length albums (at least, the ones I can think of right now, I may be back to add more) would be (in no particular order):

Led Zeppelin: Physical Graffiti
Pink Floyd: Animals
Arcade Fire: Neon Bible
The Knife: Silent Shout
Radiohead: Amnesiac
Pearl Jam: Ten
Blur: Think Tank

The album Clayman by In Flames

None Shall Pass by Aesop Rock

And Skydancer by Dark Tranquility

Other albums usually have one song I dislike.

Albums I enjoy listening beginning to end would include The Protomen both act 1 and 2 however this makes sense as they are meant to be listened all the way through.

I would also say Portal of I by Ne Obliviscaris in one album they manage to go all over the place in metal mixing progressive music with black metal, death metal and some other stuff. With some wonderful parts in there where you will have a duet between violin and guitar and both clean and harsh vocals doing a harmony or singing different versus at the same time.

You are the only other person I know of that listens to the genius of The Locust I have yet to find a way to adequately describe them to other people when I talk about them.

F#A#∞ by Godspeed You! Black Emperor

or

The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me by Brand New

Both are as close to a perfect as I've ever heard from music.

Holy shit, I've never found anyone else who listened to Elliott Smith on here. Top notch stuff.

For the album, it's a no brainer:

Devin Townsend's Ocean Machine - Biomech

I can not stop listening to it until I've finished it. Every song is fantastic, and the trick he pulls on the last few seconds on the album makes it even better.

For me, the clear winner is 'The Fragile' by Nine Inch Nails. It has long been my favourite album, and, despite it's length (2 CDs at almost an hour each) I have to listen to the entire thing once I start. Not one song is below par and it showcases some of Trent Reznor's best writing and composition. Topping n album like The Downward Spiral was never going to be easy, but with The Fragile, he surpassed it in every respect.

Unfortunately disc 2 is not on youtube as far as I can tell...

I think the only album I have (that isn't a greatest hits) where I would never skip any song is Start Something by Lostprophets.
Lostprophets were the first rock/metal band I liked, and this was the first album of this kind of music I'd ever owned. I enjoy each song on its own, but they also have little preludes between the songs that make listening to the whole album so much better, because each song flows greatly into the next.
